05 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2000: [Oz]:Hello all, good luck in the coming game. |
05 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2000: [Russia]:Good luck! |
05 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2000: [China]:Thanks, Russia |
05 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2000: [USA]:Thanks! |
10 Dec 10 UTC | Autumn, 2002: [USA]:War. War never changes. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Pacific-Russia]:LostDreams and Sailor Hodge are playing/played on EVERY game on this site - 7! They are Russia and Near-East on this game. Care to explain? |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Kenya]:And they're logged on at the same time. I think we need to throw a flag. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Near-East]:I sure do. We happen to go to the same school, called ASMSA. If you go look up the game ASMSA, you can ask Seacula, yvaN_ehT_noiJ, and Lt Burke what school they go to, also. It's not some club, and we play games without each other. It's not illegal. You flatter me in thinking I could handle 2 accounts, but not 5 or 6. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Near-East]:As for being logged on, its a residential high school, so I just leave my computer logged on when I go to class, and check whenever I have free time. So, yeah, I'm on when he is. I'm probably on when you are, too. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Pacific-Russia]:If you know eachother, it's not fair to the other players. I will report this to admin. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [China]:Hrmmm. Well, that explains why you're not worried about your northern border. If you're going to play in games together, then you need to let everyone know that you're friends when the games start, simply so that we're all on the same page as to what's going on. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Near-East]:Friends? Just because we are friends doesn't mean that I won't attack each other. We have played games where we stabbed each other on the back, were enemies, etc. And how is a 2 minute conversation about the game different than private chat? You can just as easily lie to someone's face than online. The reason I'm not worries about my northern border is that he told me he would crush me if I attacked, and that we should have an NAP. I suppose since im even friendlier with Europe, I know them too. Report what you want to admin, but just know I have a LOT of friends who play. I'm in an entire world game with them, the Arkadoo game. Yes, some nights I'm bored and one of my friends calls and tells me to hop in a game. I guess that is illegal. I guess I'll probably just not play anymore, since there is a problem with integrating my social life in here just a little bit. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Near-East]:I'm not necessarily mad, just surprised that there is such strong opinions about me being friends with other players. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Near-East]:China I want to apologize, since looking back, it seems I was pretty harsh, and a bit defensive. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Kenya]:It's just common courtesy, when beginning a game in which you are real-life acquaintances/friends/family members with another player, that you disclose this relationship to the rest of the players. A simple, "Just to let everyone know, so-and-so is my friend, but we won't give the other preferential treatment," can go a long way to avoiding this issue. Learning this after the fact, in a game in which you both are clearly allies, makes us suspicious. For me, personally, I'll never play in a game with anyone I know in real life, unless every player in the game is a real-life acquaintance, simply because I do not want to be suspected of allowing outside elements influence my game play. (By the way, any outside influence in a game is, technically, cheating. Discussions should happen online only, revenge enacted in one game based on actions from another, etc., constitute cheating.) |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Kenya]:One other note for everyone to consider is that Near-East messaged the following to me: "russia and I have an alliance, so eventually we will have to attack them." I thought such a strong alliance, relatively early in a game, seemed odd, but now it makes sense. Near-East doesn't even seem to entertain the idea of not being Russia's ally. Even if somehow this doesn't constitute collusion (cheating), it constitutes poor gamesmanship. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Pacific-Russia]:They have 7!!! - I repeat - SEVEN games together. All of their games on the site. I rest my case. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Kenya]:I'm voting to cancel the game, as I don't feel it's a fair fight for everyone involved. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Near-East]:I understand that you feel that way, Kenya, but I have never even heard of that courtesy. I personally believe such a declaration would destroy any potential trust with other players, but I will try to practice it in the future. |
11 Dec 10 UTC | Spring, 2003: [Near-East]:As for you, Pac Russia, that isn't even what I said, and it is being taken out of context. I agreed to if they became too big and threatening. But forget it. Dig up on me all the dirt you want. I'm through explaining myself to you. |
