17 May 22 UTC | Spring, 1960: Bonne chance! |
18 May 22 UTC | Spring, 1961: I am going to lose this game, but I'll keep trying - I didn't realize that fleets could not move Ukr to Yug or Caucasus to Iran - damn it! |
19 May 22 UTC | Spring, 1961: Oh no! But yeah, the rules of Diplomacy are that you can only move fleets between land territories if they share a coast (eg. Yug-Alb, but NOT Yug-Greece [even though Yug-Gre is allowed with an army!]). There are a few special territories that have "canals" as they're referred to in the classic map, which allow fleets to traverse between two separate bodies of water. On the classic map they are Kiel, Den, Swe, and Con. On this map they are Den, Swe, Ist, & Pan. Anyway, you've lost nothing yet! keep trying--this map is fairly forgiving of mistakes, and one unit may not make the difference! |
20 May 22 UTC | Autumn, 1961: Yeah, I know the rules, I was just making moves on my phone and wasn't zooming in enough to see the borders clearly. I have only played this map once before and I was cooked in about 6 turns. if I last any longer than that, it will be a bonus! |
20 May 22 UTC | Autumn, 1961: Ah yeah, the lines are pretty hard to see on the smallmap |
23 May 22 UTC | Good game! |
23 May 22 UTC | Thanks |
23 May 22 UTC | lol - now I see who you are - one of the best players on this site - thanks for schooling me on this map - I'll be better next time (I hope) |
