18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: Hey guys, greetings from the western medditerranean. The people of Carthage are interested in a peaceful partnership with you. @Rome: For the start I kindly ask for your permission to land in Sardinia with my fleet. Naturally Sicilia is yours in return. What are your plans for cooperation in the western medditeranean? Would you be interested in a demiliterised zone? @Egypt: I suggest to bounce in Leptis in autumn 01. That´s always a nice start for a good partnership between Egypt and Carthage. Maybe we can also establish a demiliterised zone including some parts of North Africa and the North African seas. @Greece, Persia: Although we don´t have a direct border, it would be nice to know to have a friend at the other side of the medditerranean. I guess you have to evaluate the situation regarding your direct neighbours first, but at least we should stay in contact. |
18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: Good afternoon everyone, @Carthage nice to hear from you and it would indeed be pleasure to stay un contact, as we di share two neighbors. to all of you I won’t give too much about pre-gama chatter but evaluation your first moves carefully and choose my response accordingly. Though I an willing to listen to any suggestions and I an looking forward to hearing from you. |
18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: Hi, everyone. I'm looking forward to playing with you. I am not particularly expansionist, despite being Persia. I expect a 3-way draw and will work toward being part of that. @Egypt, bouncing in Leptis will leave you at a disadvantage should you try to fight me. If you instead take Leptis and work with me, I would be happy to work with you. @Greece I will also watch your moves, and I hope we will have the opportunity to work together. |
18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: Greetings everyone. I’m really looking forward to this game. Love the map and I think it creates some interesting conflicts. @Persia and @Carthage is there anyway to reconcile your two requests? I’d prefer not to have to declare war on anyone in my first press. @Carthage, I’d like to DMZ at least Gulf of Syrtis, Sahara, and Bayuda. If that’s agreeable, I’ll signal my commitment by not moving to Marmarica. @Persia, what do propose as the distribution of our bordering centers? I think a logical split would be me taking Jerusalem and Petra, you taking Cyprus and Tyre. @Greece, I don’t see any immediate problems between the two of us, but I did want to just extend my goodwill. |
18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: @Egypt I plan to take Cyprus, Tyre and Jerusalem. You can have Petra. How does that sound? |
18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: @Egypt If you agree, I will withdraw from Jerusalem in Spring 2, and you can withdraw from Petra in Autumn 2. |
18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: @Persia, I am a bit confused by your split. You are devoting all three of you units to Southern gains while you would also be able to take Sinope or Chersoneseus. I think a far better split would be you taking Cyprus, Tyre, and using you remaining army to take sinope. I’d like to work together, but me making all of the capitulations when you don’t need me to is a hard pill to swallow. |
18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: @Carthage, sounds good |
18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: @Egypt How about I send one army to Jerusalem and one fleet to Cyprus this year, while another army moves to Sinope? Then I will take Tyre next year. That's one army south, one fleet west, and one army north. If you put a fleet in Jerusalem and an army in Petra, it will be difficult for us to disentangle next year. |
18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: @Persia, I just can’t buy any of your arguments. Your first proposed split was to put you in the best position to attack me, and this one is no different. F Jerusalem is incredibly easy to untangle because it is unable to threaten Arabia. If you are unable to make this exchange in good faith, it’s hard for me to imagine us working together. |
18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: @Egypt I’ve tried to negotiate in good faith, but I guess we will have to see who has the stronger position on the ground. |
18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: Wow, ist´s very rare to see a decleration of war before the game has started. If you ask me I totally go with Eygpt. Claiming three of four contended centers doesn´t sound like a fair offer to me. Egypt, your suggestion regarding our demiliteration zone sounds good. I am also willing to stay out of Phazania. |
18 Apr 22 UTC | Spring, 1: Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and DMZ Marmarica as well. I also did not expect a declaration of war, but I cannot see a world in which their proposals don't lead to my death. |
19 Apr 22 UTC | Autumn, 1: @Greece Do you want to work with me to make quick work of Egypt? |
19 Apr 22 UTC | Autumn, 1: hey… :( |
19 Apr 22 UTC | Autumn, 1: sure, if it is my part in this conflict to secure the northern border, I am in. |
19 Apr 22 UTC | Autumn, 1: Greece, before you commit, consider the kind of player Persia has proved themselves to be. They make outrageous demand and then declare war when you try to push them towards better terms. But if you do end up anything, please consider waiting a turn or two until we have a better idea on who actually is going to be ‘quick work’ |
19 Apr 22 UTC | Autumn, 1: Don´t worry too much, Egypt. Greece´s opening looks very anti Persia, so we may see a conflict around Black Sea in the future. I will move to Leptis and exspect to bounce with you there. I am open to let you have it next year to stop further aggressions in the east. I guess I can pick up Baleares next year if that´s ok with Rome. But I think he can take Massila and maybe even the other one of Vind or Dal. |
19 Apr 22 UTC | Autumn, 1: @Greece If you can take Crete this turn and then send a fleet to either Libyan or Egyptian Sea in the Spring, that would probably be enough to disrupt Egypt. @Greece You can have Chersonesus and Sinope, in addition to Byzantium and Miletus. But I ask that you have no more than one unit in each of those SC pairs and also that we DMZ Cappadocia and Armenia. |
19 Apr 22 UTC | Autumn, 1: @All I negotiate hard because I keep the deals I make. |
