21 Dec 21 UTC | That was a great game everyone. Egypt - you were a great ally until we weren't - I guess around the time I couldn't resist taking Cyprus! I really thought when the new Carthage came in that it would end in a deadlock - there was some great coordination to begin with and I even cast a draw vote a couple of times - especially when Carthage broke through in the waters around Greece and grabbed Crete. Once it was apparent that Rome and Carthage were sniping back and forth I was prompted to find a weak point. When I realized Egypt wasn't offering mutual support between Alexandria and the Libyan Sea I was able to gain the needed ground in Egypt! Thanks again for an intruiging game all!! |
21 Dec 21 UTC | New Carthage, land of the House of Hador and Hurin and Turin Turambar. Shame!! You didn't even bet 101 like the rest of of us. Why couldn't you make peace with Rome? Why couldn't you support me to Alex at the bitter end? Otherwise it was a good game. Persia, I kept going back and forth between covering against you and trying against Carthage. Thought I had done enough to ensure the deadlock, but we'll played |
21 Dec 21 UTC | Carthage, I wish we could have had peace earlier on. Since I had to defend against your movements there was no was to set a defensive perimeter until it was too late. GG Persia! Congrats! |
22 Dec 21 UTC | Grats Persia! When I joined this game in Spring 12 Persia was at 17 sc (ok 16 and an army in Dal) and I did everything I could to prevent a solo. All my moves were defensive so I don't get the aggressive on Rome part. Maybe you took the move to Etruria in Autumn 12 as such, but I'm sure you understand that was to defend against Persia as there were a lot of better moves otherwise. Egypt, I didn't support you to Alex because you needed Memphis to hold Thebes. Your position couldn't be defended anymore when a fleet entered Red Sea. I'm sorry you lost your 101 but there's no need to put that on me. High risk high reward games include the risk of a substitute. Like I said, at 17 sc there was not a whole lot to do for me. |
22 Dec 21 UTC | Fair enough Carthage! Good game all! |
