15 Dec 21 UTC | gg all |
15 Dec 21 UTC | Nice game! |
15 Dec 21 UTC | Good game everyone. |
15 Dec 21 UTC | GG,though I dont know how to play well in this map. |
15 Dec 21 UTC | Good game everyone, how I got the draw I will never know :-) |
15 Dec 21 UTC | I saw my demise coming from a mile away. Once Italy and Poland started crumbling, there wasn’t much I could do. I had hoped to throw the game to Russia since I was not going to be in the draw. I was a bit disappointed that Russia stopped, when I thought there was still some meat on the bone. |
15 Dec 21 UTC | Yes I understand your disapointment. I could have continued and maybe would have been able to take most of Turkey (sorry Turkey for the stab) and then Egypt. But I rather think it would have come to a halt and I did not have the stamina to pursue. |
15 Dec 21 UTC | My recipe is to spot one enemy and make the rest friends, and try to find a corner... |
15 Dec 21 UTC | Well played Russia, you survived some brutal combat there with Poland and came out on top. You too France, was good to have you as an ally. Nice job with Italy and Germany. Germany, was rough to see you go out like that since you played a good game too but I couldn’t dream about stabbing France as that would have let you sweep Western Europe. I just basically went around gobbling bits and pieces of other empires. This map is fun to play but there are some definite imbalances. Egypt for instance, basically impossible to defeat if played by someone tactically competent. Was frustrating that he could stonewall both me and Turkey despite our strength. Not to take anything away from you Egypt but that corner position is powerful. Really they all are though. |
15 Dec 21 UTC | gg all. no worries russia, figured it was coming. its what i would have done. |
15 Dec 21 UTC | Britain and Italy are the most difficult to play in my opinion for different reasons. Britain has a hard time getting more than Norway and sometimes Belgium and is always attacked by Germany. Italy tends to get crushed from all directions in mid-game after growing in the first years. |
15 Dec 21 UTC | I actually think Spain is the hardest to play, and Amwidkle did a very good job with it here. |
15 Dec 21 UTC | Russia seems to be feast or famine. If you can get a few builds in year one, you can really get rolling. If Sweden, Bielorussia, and Georgia all get blocked in year one, it is tough sledding. |
15 Dec 21 UTC | Poland could have taken Moscow in Autumn 1995. I don’t think there could have been any recovery for Russia from there and it would have been a much different game. Russia should start with an army in Murmansk instead of a fleet, IMO. |
15 Dec 21 UTC | Agree about Spain well played! But if you get France on your side you have a chance. |
