09 Oct 21 UTC Very good game. My best comeback that far.

Do you think I had any chance to get the solo?
09 Oct 21 UTC Sorry I didn't trust you an ally, dagabs. I thought you were lost anyway.
10 Oct 21 UTC The all hold ordersets in 2004 were a stroke of genius, New York. I don't think anything else would have gotten me to turn against Quebec.
10 Oct 21 UTC I don't really see anyway passed this point if me and peru just hold. Gg all. Good working with you Peru!
10 Oct 21 UTC Well played quarry. I didn't see a way for you to solo unless peru/cuba stabbed... Personally, I was always counting on our southern neighbors to eventually turn on each other. Credit to you both for sticking together the entire game!
10 Oct 21 UTC Agreed with Texas, especially since Cuba/Peru have perhaps the most hostile natural relationship of any two nations in any variant, in my opinion. It's like Austria/Turkey on steroids.
10 Oct 21 UTC The immediate move by Peru to the west coast made it significantly easier to trust.
10 Oct 21 UTC Phew. Well that was great fun. Well played everyone.

Given the reputation of Peru/Cuba, I deliberately set out to see if a game-long alliance could be achieved. And, I guess it can.

Trust is everything in this case and thank you Wilk0260 for an amazing alliance
10 Oct 21 UTC It’s tough to pull off though. At one point I could see we would struggle to push Texas back while my army was in Yucatàn. And I was desperate for Cuba to take it with a fleet but just couldn’t make it clear. In trying to do so nearly let Texas off the hook.

I think this slowdown of my advance let NY grow quicker. If I’d pushed back Texas quicker, cuba and I may have ended with a 2way or one of us may have stabbed for a solo
10 Oct 21 UTC I have to say that I was tempted a few times to stab. My standard build of F Lima A Bog would have been easy to steal Ven and Nic. But by the end would have let NY in for a solo.
10 Oct 21 UTC I considered taking Yucatan for a while and thought you were giving it to me but I wasn't sure enough to pull the trigger. Didn't want to spoil the relationship. Ah the complexities of gunboat!
10 Oct 21 UTC And i was nervous of the build in Cali nc that I had to do thereafter …

Anyway … all’s well that ends well!
10 Oct 21 UTC Heartland. Very interested to hear the explanation for the stab. It seemed obvious to me it was instant disaster for both of us. And it very quickly proved so. You saw something else?
