13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: What worries Egypt is that if Cilcian strait is occupied Damascus could be lost, quite handily. If Greece wants that option it could be worked around, but to guarantee security for Egypt would require no fleet other than Cyprus to border Cilcian, or else at any point Greece could move into Cilcian, and eventually force the centers. I doubt that the council of Greece would be comfortable with Cyprus being isolated from other Greek fleets and therefore likely defenseless. If Cilcian sea is a dmz and Greece keeps extra fleets away from it then Egypt could be comfortable with those terms it seems unlikely.
13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: An alternative if Greece believes the Islands are key for Greek success, Perhaps a 4:3 split giving Egypt the entirety of the Persian homeland could feel more secure for Egypt as with a DMZ of Armenia and Cappadocia guaranteeing safety. The Pharaoh is a team player and is happy to be a center below Greece if a line can be drawn that gives Egypt safety from the North.
13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: Wouldn't you have the same problem with Greek troops in Cilician, Antioch and Damascus surrounding Sidon in the other variant? If you prefer it, it can be done, but I think you are overthinking it
13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: Assuming you in Cyprus, Sidon and Tyre, I mean
13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: Great Pharaoh, move Lepis to Numidia this turn, which you have earned for being such a strong ally
13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: Sidon can't be forced by Damascus Antioch and Cilcian right? Support from Syria and Arabia is enough. To reduce the number of troops both of us have to commit to the border, we could have an arranged bounce in Cilcian and then Syrian sea doesn't even need to be there. Perhaps I am wrong but that split seems more defensible for both parties.
13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: Great Carthage. Your city will be cherished by the Pharaoh. Thank you, and we wish you the best of luck in defending your homeland.
13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: Then, you can take Cyprus and I'll stick with Antioch and Damascus. We are generous people
13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: Thank you council of Greece. I appreciate your humility in this discussion. I will meet you on the border of Sidon soon.
13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: I think Carthage is the same player as Egypt.
13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: Bye.
13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: What does that even mean? Has the Persian emperor gone mad?
13 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: Madness as always been a curse among the inbred Persian nobility
14 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
14 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: Wow did Persia really just abandon their country? Its dishonorable.
14 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: We might be seeing soon the third Sultan in 5 years
14 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: Good thing we're here to bring some stability to Persia
15 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 5: It is not Persia that has failed to enter orders. While I believe there are nefarious issues between Carthage and Egypt, I have continued to enter orders until the end, but will cease diplomacy for the reason I stated above.
15 Apr 21 UTC Spring, 6: Greece it appears as though Persia has abandoned it's Northern borders, leaving me in an uncomfortable position. I don't know how I will get to the centers we have divied up if I can't reach them. Can you support Egyptian to sea to Cyprus? I might not move there but I don't I want to make Persia have to guess.
15 Apr 21 UTC Spring, 6: Presumably the navy in Cilcian has little else to do seeing as Antioch was left empty?
15 Apr 21 UTC Spring, 6: Persia, your baseless accusations are tiresome
15 Apr 21 UTC Spring, 6: Sure, I'll support you
15 Apr 21 UTC Spring, 6: Thank you Greece. I am hoping we can clean up Persia quickly. If I do not build soon my Western flank could be over run by Romans.
15 Apr 21 UTC Spring, 6: Great Pharoah, Rome has never moved to attack you, nor do we consider you an enemy. We understand that you must defend your borders, but hope to avoid any conflict between us.
15 Apr 21 UTC Spring, 6: I hope to have a great peace between the Romans, Greeks and Egyptians. A three way peace seems to me to be a solid way to end these wars.
15 Apr 21 UTC Spring, 6: That is also the hope of the Senate
17 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 6: Greece I hope there is no ill intent behind the move to Gulf of Tacape. I would like to keep peace between our nations. I trust the move to Sidon was a temporary one and will be removed as soon as Egyptians can reach the border we agreed upon?
17 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 6: Dear Pharaoh: We saw the intention of Caesar and yours to end the war in a coalition between the three of us. As such, our armies have rushed to help that dream come true as fast as possible. We wanted to free the Persians before they could retake Jerusalem, and that's why we are on Sidon. When they are gone, Sidon will be yours. That's also why my fleet is in the Gulf: to puto some pressure over Thapsus and help Rome and you to finish the deal
17 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 6: Goodbye Cruel World
18 Apr 21 UTC Spring, 7: Friends in Greece and Egypt, the Senate is glad to hear that we are in agreement. We suggest that Greece support Egypt into Thapsus and Tyre, while Rome takes Carthage. Next year, Rome can take the final Carthaginian centre for a 12/11/11 draw.
18 Apr 21 UTC Spring, 7: This is amenable to Egypt.
18 Apr 21 UTC Spring, 7: Sure
20 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 7: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
20 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 7: Hi new Persia here. I’m at the mercy of whoever wants to vassalize me. My army will move as ordered by whoever is my liege.
21 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 7: Greetings to the new ruler of Persia, Rome hopes that you do not suffer from the same madness displayed by those who came before you. While we are far away, we must nevertheless express our support for the joint Greek and Egyptian administration of your lands that was planned previously. The Senate is certain that your new overlords will provide you with reasonable accomodation and treat you in a manner that is befitting of your station, but that station cannot be the ruler of an independent Persia.
21 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 7: That... was a mistake
21 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 7: Covering Sparta likely was a good idea. I will destroy Tyre this year and hopefully we will achieve peace. Leptis will cover Numidia. Let me know if there is anything left to do.
21 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 7: I thought we had Libyian as a DMZ, but the game should end the next year, so let's not complicate things too much. You get Tyre, Rome gets Cirta with your support, I get Sparta, we draw
21 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 7: Oh I am sorry Greece, that was a misunderstanding. I though we drew the line of everything South of Crete were Egyptian waters, which is why I was skeptical last turn of the move to Gulf of Tacape.
21 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 7: No worries
22 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 8: Time for those elephants to show up!
22 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 8: Nicely played Rome, Greece and Egypt
23 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 8: Thank you Carthage, you were a worthy foe
23 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 8: It was a jolly war although peace will be enjoyable as well.
23 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 8: It's the way it was meant to be. Good game everyone!
23 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 8: I would have loved to continue playing a little bit more, but in public open press it's difficult to justify haha
23 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 8: But I had a blast, specially with all the tension with Egypt at the beginning
23 Apr 21 UTC Autumn, 8: Yeah I think it would have been a bit difficult to continue from here. I was very intent on not just waiting for Carthage to be destroyed but couldn't get the old Persia, or you to make a move. I thought if I could get Persia to commit to being an army power I would have a decent amount of stability.
23 Apr 21 UTC Good game everyone! That was a lot of fun
23 Apr 21 UTC Ggs my dudes
