20 May 21 UTC I didn’t see myself breaking through thru heartland or florida anytime soon. I may have attacked florida either too early or too late. I took over a fortunate position in spring 2003
20 May 21 UTC I survived!
20 May 21 UTC I had nice fight with Quebec at the beginning but then Hearthland decided to take Ohio and everything went in crapper for me
20 May 21 UTC I also took over a fortunate position the fall before, I felt my position was best suited to go after Texas, so I did, though I made several mistakes with a unit behind my lines that meant I had to take longer finally killing them. This gave Florida an opening to attack me, which they quite willingly took. Soon I found myself stuck between a large California and a large Florida. Because I only had two centers on the west coast, and California had mainly fleets in the area I took a gamble. In winter 2008 I blew up my western fleet and essentially ceded those centers to California. My thinking was that then California would leave me alone as long as I kept fighting against Florida. At this point it was looking like the two of them had the best chances of soloing, so it was in both of our interests. I was willing to play with fire and turn on California only once I was essential to keep him from soloing. For a few years this works and California starts to become a very large solo threat. At the time he outnumbered Heartland's armies 7-4 and had both me and Peru slowing down Florida.
In 2011, I think California lost most of their chances to solo. In the North they make a few tactical mistakes that slow down that conquest, while in the south they move against me. This leads to me defending against them (Peru also built a fleet in Lima then, but I can't speak for them). I think this was also a significant reason California couldn't get anything from Florida later, as if I had still owned San Antonio I think that war goes differently. From then on I think I defended fairly well against two powers that wanted me dead, even though I didn't have Peru's virtually unkillable position.
20 May 21 UTC NY...you tried to take Michigan from me in spring '04, we had been great up until that point. So I guess you could say your downfall began several years earlier trying to take Mich, which led to me taking Ohio. That move honestly weakened both of us for the rest of the game, neither recovered as we got bogged down fighting each other instead of pushing away from each other
20 May 21 UTC Main reason why I kept tapping Mich was so it would stay empty because you could(and did) easily take Ohio when you had army in Mich
20 May 21 UTC And that tapping happened after you took Mont from Quebec and became major player in north
21 May 21 UTC I trulty hate when someone doesn't move, so I m not so happy about this match... however, there were loads of interesting situations, and for those I say ty to everybody who insert moves!
In 2011 I get pretty scared... i wuoldn't be so gentle :D
Have luck for your next matches mates!
