26 Mar 21 UTC | well played gents |
26 Mar 21 UTC | Hey I finally survived one with you |
26 Mar 21 UTC | Egypt, thank you for the mutual defense to prevent the solo |
26 Mar 21 UTC | I took your reversal in Autumn 9 to invite me to attack Greece to get to the three way draw; however I do think you had the positioning to solo. It was a guessing game to defend Athens or Sparta and once one was lost I don’t think I could defend the remaining positions. Thanks for the Draw! |
26 Mar 21 UTC | GG, even though I didn’t survive it. No hard feelings - it’s Diplomacy... - but Greece: what was your thinking in the attack on Rome that left you so open to Persia? Again, no hard feelings, just curious. |
26 Mar 21 UTC | Great game all. @Persia: Why insist on re-taking Damascus after you took Crete? I nearly disbanded Libya instead of Armenia thinking you might be about to make a break for a solo. by attacking me. The reason I was moving my army up was first to help you block Greek retreats from Byzantium, and later to borrow a build which would allow me to get an additional fleet in Alexandria, since we seemed to have too many armies to hold the draw line with Greece gone. |
26 Mar 21 UTC | and yes I agree this could have been a solo if Carthage kept pushing. I would not have taken the invitation to attack Greece unless the Ionian and Ausonian seas, and the Gulf of Tacape became empty. |
26 Mar 21 UTC | Finally, thanks Persia for reading the board well and helping counter Carthage early on, instead of trying to take advantage of my move vulnerability. We had a somewhat tense start with me taking Jer and then changing course once I saw Greece was attacking Rome instead of you. |
