If any power attacks Italy, Germany joins in Italy's side. This is a strictly defensive alliance, and if either Germany or Italy is the one to attack another power, the ally does not agree to join the war.

11 Mar 21 UTC Autumn, 1901: Hey guys, first round, did I join an in progress game?
11 Mar 21 UTC Autumn, 1901: Autumn 1901. Paris.
President Émile Loubet's public and intra-government favor quickly turns as a young ambitious cabinet member, one Sébastien Andrés Hernández from the integrated Spanish territories exposes Presidential corruption and personal enrichment. Many opportunists in government take the chance to call for the presidents removal and advance their interests. Labor Secretary Hernández is no exception, using the moment to attack presidential failings in labor reform and promised full integration of Iberian lands and people.

After increasing calls both in and outside the government for his stepping down, the President Loubet prepares to give a public address to a crowd of demonstrators. A short while into his apologetics, a loud ring is heard from the crowd. Loubet was shot, later pronounced dead, newspaper headlines across the nation read "mort du président !!!" After emergency elections, a new coalition party called La Fraternité de la Liberté, lead by one Secretary Hernández wins a devesting victory. While falling short of plurality at 46% of the vote, they nearly doubled the runner up of 25%. Touting full citizenship and integration of Iberian lands along with sweeping reforms to labor and commerce laws.

A new era dawns on France.
