14 Apr 21 UTC | Good game everyone. If there were any justice in the game of Diplomacy, Italy and Ukraine would be in the draw for their role in holding me back while Germany and France fought Spain and England. I could have soloed if they (along with Poland) hadn’t done such a good job defending after Egypt fell. France also did a great job of using its units to stalemate me after Spain was finished off. |
14 Apr 21 UTC | I partially agree that Italy deserved to make the draw. That's why I had my vote up for a few years. But they attacked Libya in second and third years which helped weaken Egypt and kickstarted your snowballing. Their excellent defense was excellent, but their early decisions caused the problem. Likewise with Ukraine, who left you alone to fruitlessly attack Russia in 96+97 while you finished off Egypt. If anything, it's England that did nothing wrong this game :/ sorry pal, France allied me from day 1 and I never looked back. My voluntary disband in A2000 was honest, as was my move against France in A2001, but I was too late and attacking Poland or France was only going to threaten the stalemate line because of how quickly Turkey was growing, so I turned back against you. |
14 Apr 21 UTC | Great game everyone! I thought Turkey was going to solo, but France came to our rescue. Kudos to Ukraine for fighting hard until the end. |
14 Apr 21 UTC | Thanks, I appreciate that! Good game, all. I was getting pretty worried wondering how much longer Italy could hold out, so I feel a little bad about taking advantage of their sacrifice like that. On the other hand, I didn't know what Germany planned to do once England was out and this seemed like the quickest route to the draw. |
