07 Mar 21 UTC Good draw folks. It was a close one (1908 had me worried). Would’ve loved to eliminate Italy as punishment for leaving his kingdom wide open to the Austo-barbarians, but good job to ThePremier nonetheless
07 Mar 21 UTC Thanks for the game everyone. Part of my calculation in backing off Turkey and going after France in 02/03 was to avoid giving Austria too much of an upper hand against Russia and Turkey, who I thought would start cooperating against Austria. Obviously that didn't quite work out. After Austria built a second fleet and moved to ION, I knew Austria would eventually overpower me, and my strategy was just to hold on at the stalemate line, minimally defending my home centers to buy me more time to capture Iberia. I think I made a couple tactical mistakes in that fight and France defended well, but I eventually got into Portugal at the right moment, which saved my game. Of course, the rest of you have to live with a bigger draw size, but that's how it goes sometimes :)

Not sure if this is what France was referring to, but I also worried the line might be lost in 1908, when Germany held in Kiel instead of freeing the center for an army build. It looked like Germany didn't see the need for the extra army and we might be stuck without it. Fortunately, they made a good move in S09 and recovered.
07 Mar 21 UTC GG all. Yeah, I built one fleet too many. The prussia/livonia campaign saved us all. Somewhere I missed I had a build coming and didn't think to free myself up. Can't remember that far back :).
07 Mar 21 UTC Yep, that’s what I was referring to Italy. Thanks for sharing your side of the story, you made the right call!
07 Mar 21 UTC The heroes of Prussia will go down in history haha. But if admiral T had attacked Berlin at that point we wouldn’t be so pleased with ourselves right now :)
08 Mar 21 UTC Disappointing to have a 17 SC draw but good job establishing the stalemate line. I tried to get fleets to the Atlantic as fast as I could but it was too late
