27 Nov 20 UTC Spring, 1902: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.

20 Dec 20 UTC GG all. Despite leading by a large margin, I felt like I was never very close to a solo here, so I was surprised that Germany (and England) weren't willing to eliminate Russia. I'd be curious what your thinking was and whether I could've done anything else to change your mind.
20 Dec 20 UTC You serious? If we take a SC from Russia, you would just take one or two remaining SCs. It became clear that the best game for us was to stop you from soloing.

I was surprised you tried so many times to advance before giving up.
20 Dec 20 UTC Germany, I appreciate your faith in me. I must be getting better at this game. In the past, everyone would turn on me.
20 Dec 20 UTC Oh, I'm not criticizing your decision to form a stalemate line against me at all, or suggesting that you should've moved units away from it. Just used the ones that were already there: Norway, BOT, Prussia, Silesia. Even if I'm able to pick up Moscow and Warsaw at the end, you can easily defend Munich, Berlin, and StP, so I don't see what the danger is. Maybe you disagree?
20 Dec 20 UTC Obviously it's taking a little bit of a risk that something goes wrong. Maybe your risk tolerance is just different from mine, I don't mean to be critical.
20 Dec 20 UTC Hello all. Good game, I understand what you were trying to convey for a while now Italy. And yes, it a worthwhile risk. I've seen and done similar stuff before.

It's just I'm going for a vacation from regular Diplomacy for a while, so really didn't feel motivation (or the blood thirst) to deprive someone else from the draw.
While it's a completely valid strategy in Gunboat Diplomacy, I've been slowly but surely started to dislike it more and more.
20 Dec 20 UTC I am in general a gunboat loser, and it never occurred to me. I am sorry to say. I have been studying the game with the bots, playing one country over and over until I got comfortable, and I think I can hang with you guys now. But, I am sorry, it didn't occur to me. I only saw that you were likely to solo, so for me, it was do anything to stop it. I appreciate the lesson.
20 Dec 20 UTC also, there were so few chips involved. If it were a 40 or 100 chip bet, I would have been more blood thirsty
20 Dec 20 UTC That's fair enough Germany and England, no worries!
