Autumn, 1910: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
Russia and Italy splitting England in gunboat is a really funny sight gg |
|
As long as you are not England :-) Guys, how do you deal as England when there is a RG in 1901, getting 5 fleet in the north in 02 + 1 french one stabbing Lvp? |
|
It ´s been a long way to the draw. gg
Honestly you don't, or at least you can't on your own power. You need the alliance scheme to fracture somehow (which did happen in our case). France shouldn't have broken solidarity by going after Liverpool in that situation. Diverting one unit to take one center doesn't accomplish anything.
England, you deserved the draw. I thought about a 5 way draw, but you did a great mistake in autumn 1910 going out of Bel, losing a piece and giving it to the german, and it was your no return point.
gg everyone..it was a pleasure to play with you all..felt like everyone was playing on high level..yeah, definitely a rare sight with Italy and Russia becoming so strong..nice to see we had a top 10 gunboat player with us ;) I'd be happy to get any recommendations or criticism regarding my performance! I was sorry for the early backstab on Austria but I didn't expect things to develop so fast and didn't think an Austia-Turkey-alliance can last very long.. I felt like I was too aggressive against Austria in the midgame but luckily got away with it? I was surprised Italy put so little pressure on me during this time, since I thought it could profit more from the situation? Btw, did you consider going for a solo at any point in time, Russia? |
|
Italy, I realized that :-) I never intended to leave Belgium. As you tried to move into the Channel in 09, I expected to bounce and stay Belgium! but obviously the risk of that scheme should have me reconsider the order. |
|
Considered, sure, but the issue was that Italy not only had an equal center count the whole way, but was also in prime position to profit more from any attacks I might make on you or Germany. (Plus, the window wasn't really there to attack you.) I thought I had a great shot after a great 1901, but the attack on Sevastopol hurt that a lot, and then Germany read my not terribly elegant attack like a book. I felt the attack on Germany was a forced play because Germany was one year away from delivering the knockout blows to England AND France, and would have the builds to attack me if I tried to attack Austria in the interim. It was a very shaky preemptive strike that I suppose technically accomplished the goal of preventing a runaway German game at my expense, but probably also cost me any real chance at a solo, given how it empowered Italy. |

Ya, I remember looking at the board in Autumn of 1903 and thinking, even if Russia doesn’t want to move to the Baltic, they kind of have too. Which meant I had to too, even though I would have preferred to continue West.
It has been a good Game. Another one?
Thanks everyone, don’t feel so bad getting waxed by this caliber of playing company
I’d do another. |
