16 Oct 20 UTC | I'm sorry Mexico for the late stab. I had voted for draw but with Heartland going for what I felt like was a solo attempt, I felt I needed the extra SCs to counter balance him. Maybe even go for a solo play of my own. I'm really grateful you had been cooperative with me for so long. British Columbia, your easy early growth was a bit frustrating to watch. Maybe I should have let Cali grow a bit to counter you, but I was greedy early game. I may have retreated a bit to early to the Kansas-New Mexico line too. Heartland, I tried to be as helpful as I could early game to support you. That Autumn 2006 bounce in Missouri to make sure BC doesn't retreat from Nebraska to Missouri is one specific play. I was expecting the stab, but I though I had a year more, maybe my gain of Mexican SCs forced you to attack earlier? Cuba, that 2004 move to the Gulf of Mexico kinda made me make sure to designate you as an enemy. I think you did a few friendly support orders afterwards? Not sure. Still that area was my main opportunity to grow. New York, that attempt to attack me while you being attacked hastened your end. You, Quebec should've tried to ally yourselves in face of a strong Heartland. GG folks. Had a lot of fun. I may message the mods for me to host a Gunboat tournament (Fall of The Americas variant or even normal, if everything works out). So keep a general eye out such a thing. |

16 Oct 20 UTC | Good game! It was fun. I am just glad to a part of the draw here. |
16 Oct 20 UTC | Totally understandable Texas. It was nice to have you as an ally for so long. I wasn't expecting a draw with me or Cuba involved. Thanks all, this was fun. |
16 Oct 20 UTC | My play at the end was a long shot for the solo, it was mostly a balance of power play designed to keep us all as even as possible. |
16 Oct 20 UTC | Man, I so didn't deserve a share of the draw, but thank you for including me. In these games it's always Cuba vs Peru at first. Had Florida as a key ally but he immediately went for one of my home centers when pressured, so that didn't work out too well. ;-) Mexico was a great ally early, but he was super tight with Texas. Once Peru was all but vanquished, it looked to me that because of positioning, Mexico was going to side with Texas over me, so I tried to attack early. Unfortunately the Mexico/Texas alliance was too powerful for me to handle. ;-) GG everyone! |
