19 Aug 20 UTC gg all
19 Aug 20 UTC Id like to file a complaint. I was told that turkey was really strong in gunboat, but then italy stole all my centers in the first 2.5 years.
19 Aug 20 UTC Gg all. It was clear you were a very experienced player Germany, you overwhelmed me very quickly. Nicely played to the final three, efficient work.
19 Aug 20 UTC lol. Sorry, Panda.
Playing my first Dip game in 1988, so I may have a slight experience advantage.
Was kind of a perfect storm of things that went wrong for you, too, which happens to all of us from time to time.
19 Aug 20 UTC Gunboat means never having to say you're sorry, Italy!

Unlike a certain unfortunate Sultan, I had the perfect storm of things go right for me in the early game. It's hard to see why some people argue there's no luck in Diplomacy, not even in gunboat, when games like this exist. I don't think there was a way to convert the solo, though. Turning against A/I in 1904 would have left England with too many builds and an impregnable navy.

GG all!
19 Aug 20 UTC ugh, and it's my own game name too. <facepalm>
20 Aug 20 UTC I'm sorry Italy but you've been had. But, sick soul read going for Smyrna over Syria. Takes a lot of guts to devote 3 units in that attack.
