08 Jun 10 UTC | Spring, 1: The Suffet sends greetings to you all. He is located in the wild barabarian lands to the north, currently at +2 UTC, and is available for consultation regularly between 08:00-20:00 UTC. |
11 Jun 10 UTC | Autumn, 2: Caesar sends greetings and asks that whoever hasn't pressed the Ready button yet to please do so. Someone has saved their move, but not committed yet. |
11 Jun 10 UTC | Autumn, 2: I've hit the Ready button already. Just checked. |
11 Jun 10 UTC | Autumn, 2: When you confirm your orders the colour of the tick mark changes from grey to green. In this case we are waiting for Persia. |
11 Jun 10 UTC | Autumn, 2: Thank you, Suffet, for this important information. |
11 Jun 10 UTC | Autumn, 2: Hail Caesar. The Suffet apologises for his moves last season, he was alarmed by your entry into Lig and Gaul and wished to take defensive measures. His units will withdraw according to our agreement. |
13 Jun 10 UTC | Autumn, 3: The Suffet advises all leaders that Rome has withdrawn from the Treaty of Carthage and cautions against believing in "mistakes" made by treacherous Caesar. Greece should be especially careful of fine Roman words undermined by infamous Romans deeds; Caesar will respect your NAP no longer than it suits him. |
13 Jun 10 UTC | Autumn, 3: Caesar bows to your compliments, Suffet. I thought your back and forth maneuvering to and from Egypt to be rather amusing frankly. We never had a treaty, per se. We made agreements for the division of the neutral territories with assurances of none interference. The words "alliance" and "treaty" were never used in our discussions. You fell for a classic trap, my friend. The language of Diplomacy is very precise. You can make any "agreement" you wish with anyone, but be sure to establish the type of agreement - NAP, MAP, Alliance, et al. Otherwise your agreement has no real parameters in officialdom - doesn't hold up in court, so to speak. An agreement is just a matter of convenience, until you sign the dotted line on a NAP, MAP, Alliance or whatever. DMZs are rather pointless without a NAP, MAP, or Alliance agreement to back them up. We made none of those agreements. Caesar regrets the coming war between us, but the Suffet should understand that there are no knives beneath my toga; just swords, catapults, trebuchets, heavy infantry, cavalry, archers and lots of ships. |
13 Jun 10 UTC | Autumn, 3: Caesar confirms his true nature. Those who think words will protect them from him should take note. He will twist them to his own ends. Take heed Greece. |
27 Jun 10 UTC | Autumn, 11: And so the Carthaginian empire fades away, content at least that some corner of the map remains forever blue. |
