13 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1901: Hi again, everyone, and welcome to our replacement, Eng. I'll respond to press in a few hours. Enjoy the game!
13 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1901: Thank you for the warm welcome, V+. At present, England hopes to use the following moves:

A LVP-YOR
F EDI-YOR
F LON-YOR

This should keep Her Majesty's armed forces busy while we all watch the World Cup.
13 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1901: (TheGhostmaker): I've decided that it's easiest to keep ava in this league.

ava, can you send me an email from an address which I can contact you with for the remaining league games?

Thanks

Ghost
13 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1901: Sorry about that, Ghost. I tried the player who was supposed to be in the game from the start, but with the clock winding down, we all just wanted to make sure that we got the game started.
13 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1901: Sweet. The Queen raises a toast to Ghost. A good Englishman, if there ever was one.
13 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1901: Let's get those unpause votes in and get this game rolling.
14 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1901: Good luck to you all, and welcome to the new player , lets roll :)
14 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1901: I am playing from a mobile, so if my grammer or typing is off, that's why
14 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1901: I am playing from a mobile, so if my grammer or typing is off, that's why
14 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1901: Yes, good luck everyone! No worries, Russia, playing on a mobile is hard enough, let alone trying to type out messages.
19 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1902: Hey, everyone. I'm going to have a really busy weekend, so I'll only be able to check in and send press sporadically.
20 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1902: I will bounce Austria again so you have free way to Moscow. I will not build any more fleet and if you and France have objection I will waive one build and use only one to build army.
Build would be in Munich so I can move to Tyrolia and support France to Venice. What do you think?
20 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1902: I am idiot :)
20 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1902: Ah. That was for a different game, no? :P
20 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1902: Yes of course :)
22 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1903: My internet has been screwed up for the past two days. So...I haven't been ignoring anyone. I just couldn't get on. Sorry.
24 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1903: I vote for the draw for now. It appears that if there is no stabbing neither side can advance.
24 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1903: Agreed.
24 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1903: (TheGhostmaker): jimgov, please join game 2.
24 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1903: Maybe its just me, but I don't think a six-way draw makes any sense.
24 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1903: Maybe it's just me, but six-way draw looks a lot better to me than a loss at the hands of the Western Triple. :)
27 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1904: (TheGhostmaker): JimGov, join game 2 the next time you log on to webdip (ie now), or I shall have to find a replacement for you in the leagues.
27 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1904: I guess his Internet is still giving him trouble.
28 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: So, a 5WD, while not ideal, isn't that bad. But it depends on how the leagues are scored and I have no idea about how this works. Anyone?
28 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: The maximum amount of points for a win is 12. If you draw, it is 12 points divided by number of participants in the draw. If we draw now, we'll each get 2.4 points (I don't know if they round or not.)
28 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: There are 4 D-league games, and at the end of the league the top 9 (out of 28) players move on. We could draw now, but would probably have a much more difficult time getting into the top 9 later.
28 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: http://tournaments.webdiplomacy.net/thephpleague
28 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: Well all other D leagues have 2 games running and I can't predict how they'll finish (although D2 has one paused game). I think the 5WD puts all of us in a weak position. A 6WD puts us all in a marginally weak position, while giving jimgov the added 2 points vis a vis the rest of us. That said, if we draw we might be the first league in the D series to actually finish a game and we might be able to go on and put our efforts into the other one.
28 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: I, for one, refuse to draw at least until Italy's gone. The 5WD seems really unappealing to me, but if both Germany and England get on board with it, we'll go ahead and draw.
28 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: Assuming that game 1 results for the other leagues end in solos, then we are automatically in the top eight if we 5WD. If they end in 2WD then we are in the top 11. If they end in 3WD then we are in the top 14, and so on...I can't imagine that all other leagues will end in 4WD or more. Combinations of these...suppose there are 2 solos and one 3WD for instance, then we are in the top 10 after game 1. Still pretty competitive.

It's up to y'all to infer from that the benefits of a draw here. I won't try to persuade anyone either way as I think it's up to you guys.
28 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: I hadn't looked at it in that light, ava. Its an interesting analysis, that's for sure. Just note that ties will be broken primarily by total number of SC's.
28 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: Sure but who's to say that things won't look totally different in 2 games time?
28 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: Oh, they definitely will, I'm just throwing my two cents in :)
29 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: I need a pause starting 3rd July because I'm going on vacation.
So please vote now. I'll be back briefly from the 19th to the 21st, then I will be off again until 30th July.
29 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: With all due respect, couldn't you find an account sitter if you're going to be gone that long?
29 Jun 10 UTC Spring, 1905: Yeah I think this was discussed in the email. I agree with ghost - do find a sitter, it's not that hard.
30 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1905: Hehe jimgov...ye sly man.
30 Jun 10 UTC Autumn, 1905: Just realized - it only 1905. There is much to be played in this game yet.
01 Jul 10 UTC Autumn, 1905: So I might go MIA tomorrow since it's my birthday and my roommates have threatened to throw a huge party. This means that I'll only check once or twice instead of 200 million times.
01 Jul 10 UTC Autumn, 1905: Really? My birthday is next week :)
Happy birthday ava :)
02 Jul 10 UTC Spring, 1906: Hey guys, no need for the pause, I'll be sitting for Gobbeldydook. I've been in communication with him and all that good stuff. Good luck all, etc.
02 Jul 10 UTC Spring, 1906: Welcome to the game...can you tell us who you are so we have knowledge with who are we talking. Thanks.
02 Jul 10 UTC Spring, 1906: sorry, forgot about that part. My username is Dan-i-Am 88
02 Jul 10 UTC Spring, 1906: Welcome to the game, Dan
