22 May 20 UTC good game all!
22 May 20 UTC gg all. Greece has definitely shifted down in my power rankings after this. Your SC's are awkwardly placed and you're vulnerable to attack from all sides. retreats are also a nightmare to deal with.

My gameplan was actually to ally with rome so that he could devote his resources to carthage, but rome moving to ionian sea in year 2 and going rav -> ven in year 5 when I was retreating made that impossible. I didn't agree with either of those plays, but it's one of those things where I'm biased, so I'm not sure if they were actually bad or that they annoyed me personally so I didn't like them haha. It did feel like they didn't accomplish anything though and left rome worse off against carthage.
22 May 20 UTC I think I bungled my Year 1 pretty hard. Greece's advantage over persia is that he can get a fleet into the black sea very easily, so it should have grabbed Byzantinum in Year 1 instead of grabbing Crete.
22 May 20 UTC good game all. i believe my mistake was the push to move an army to cyprus in order to destroy a persian unit. that focus left me exposed to Carthage.
22 May 20 UTC Good game all. I tried to signal peace with Egypt early but he kept attacking me and never defended against carthage until too late. Then I lost too much ground to greece after focusing on Egypt.

Persia seems weak for gunboat to me. Getting through Sinai is practically impossible and greece feels like they have better position in the north. Feels like you need at least 2 fleets for defense but they are so boxed in it's hard to use them effectively.
22 May 20 UTC Hmm, interesting. When I played persia last game I liked it. Egypt was hard to attack, but the map felt fine in terms of Greece v Persia. I think in this game Greece just had a lot more units in that area.

I liked that persia's sc's were well placed for defense, and it's early development guides it into easily creating the semi-circle that you always want to have.
