09 May 20 UTC Spring, 1906: This is the most random global tab of any game I’ve ever played on here. You all crack me up.
09 May 20 UTC Spring, 1906: Be sure to teach some of these basics to the good people of Warsaw and Moscow, Russia. They'll be needing it soon.
09 May 20 UTC Spring, 1906: So hard to even get my hands on a French textbook anymore, they’ve all been translated over to English or Italian. :)
09 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1906: Haha well that was short lived. This is why I don’t try for a solo very often, I’m not very good at it.
10 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1906: (He's very good at it)
10 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1906: Hahaha I can’t wait to look up his record at the end when we’re not all anonymous any more
11 May 20 UTC Spring, 1907: Guess it's time for me to abandon ship and try swimming up the Rhine to Switzerland.

I really enjoyed (in a masochistic kind of way) this game and playing with a bunch of decent, friendly players.
11 May 20 UTC Spring, 1907: I’ve enjoyed your presence, Germany. Sorry to see you go.
11 May 20 UTC Spring, 1907: We’re all following you very shortly.
11 May 20 UTC Spring, 1907: Boy if it were 'masochistic' for you to play with us... How could it have been for us to play with you..? See you next time!
11 May 20 UTC Spring, 1907: It's been a pleasure Germany, good game!
14 May 20 UTC Spring, 1908: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
14 May 20 UTC Spring, 1908: I readied my set
14 May 20 UTC Spring, 1908: Mine have been ready, not just saved. for the last few hours also.
14 May 20 UTC Spring, 1908: Readied.
14 May 20 UTC Spring, 1908: Readied
14 May 20 UTC Spring, 1908: England?
15 May 20 UTC Spring, 1908: I think if memory serves England lives on the west coast and only checks moves late at night his time.
17 May 20 UTC Spring, 1909: Just coming back to check the progression and... oh lord, how is Turkey still alive?
17 May 20 UTC Spring, 1909: Raw Talent and Skill
17 May 20 UTC Spring, 1909: And being in a position that's been useful
17 May 20 UTC Spring, 1909: Everyone is trying to stop Russia from soloing, including Turkey, except for the one turn out of every three or so where France decides to pursue naked self interest instead, relying on everyone else’s vulnerability to Russia to get away with it. I haven’t had so much fun in years.
17 May 20 UTC Spring, 1909: Actually France recommended to Italy last phase that he'd take Tri with Tyo, since Ven's support could not be cut, and Italy would have done a splendid job pursuing his own naked self interest through that additional SC if he'd listened to France's selfless advice. :)
17 May 20 UTC Spring, 1909: > Ow well. Move Tyo to Mun next turn, I'd say, and Ven-Tri.

Direct quote, spelling as in the original.
17 May 20 UTC Spring, 1909: Nope. That's... or was... the secret plan for the *coming* phase, Italy. The previous phase, in which you wasted the opportunity to take Tri, the direct, and again correctly spelled message was

"You can actually take a break in the Northern theatre and hit Tri with Tyo, supported by Ven. That's the most useful thing it could could do, tying up Vie and Tri so they'll at least do no more damage."

That would have gotten you Tri, in retrospect.
17 May 20 UTC Spring, 1909: * fetches popcorn *
18 May 20 UTC Can we pause? Italy, why are you giving the game to Russia? We were finally getting somewhere stopping the solo.
18 May 20 UTC I’m afraid it wouldn’t make a difference anymore. At most you could get at this point is 1 center back and I’m already at 19.

Good game all!
18 May 20 UTC Let's pause so we can talk with the site moderators.
18 May 20 UTC Because you aren’t willing to have a draw that includes me. My best outcome is to survive. I’d rather survive to a Russia solo in 1909 than be eliminated after a French stab in 1923.

France, to answer your earlier question to Russia, THIS is why you consider a draw even with players like me who you “can easily beat.”
18 May 20 UTC > Let's pause so we can talk with the site moderators.

I don’t think anyone in this game wants to have to interact with you any longer, frankly.
18 May 20 UTC It's always the ones who stab you (see 1904 moves) - while you were just working on your own empire and had peace with them - that go paranoia about you stabbing them in 1923. Funny how that works.

-No, Italy, that reasoning is precisely why I'm NOT considering a draw...
18 May 20 UTC Good game, England, Russia, Turkey, Austria.

Germany, Italy: you were also there.
18 May 20 UTC Oh come on guys, don't be mean
18 May 20 UTC It's diplomacy; betrayal is expected
18 May 20 UTC I think both of you feel like the other gave the game to Russia, but this kind of stuff is a part of the game too.
18 May 20 UTC ? I may be a horrible player but giving the game away?!?
18 May 20 UTC France: "Germany - you were also there".

Yes, but I wish I hadn't been, or at least not as your ally.

I'm with Italy on this.

However thanks for the game everyone else - I did (mostly) really enjoy it.
18 May 20 UTC And well played Russia - you played a great game and deserve the solo.
18 May 20 UTC Thanks all, I had a great time!
18 May 20 UTC I found the game enjoyable and learned by watching.
18 May 20 UTC Russia, I don't think you deserve to win just yet, but you were the best player here for sure.
18 May 20 UTC Thanks all!

From my perspective I think I’d have to credit the assist to France. I leaned pretty hard on your strained relationships and weakens trust from others to feel confident to make this move. I got worried for a bit there that you were all working it out but seems you started testing boundaries early and Italy did the thing a lot of people do when they feel they’re getting set up for a stab.
18 May 20 UTC I would only have attacked Italy if it was in my interest: it really is that simple. With Russia at 16, it objectively wasn't. I'm not sure how often I had to order Ion S Gre H to get that point across. Apparently: forever.
This was a crap game, there was ample opportunity for Italy to create something for himself while we were stopping a Russian solo. He just didn't even try.
18 May 20 UTC France - how about trying something that may have never occurred to you before, a little bit of grace and humility, especially in defeat. And perhaps the ability to see the world from anyone else's perspective other than your own.
18 May 20 UTC I am honestly trying to figure out what on earth happened in A08 that didn't happen in S08 or A07? Move after move I coordinate with Italy and England. Look at the orders page! What MORE than sending a unit to hold Greece could I have done?!

I stick with Russia being the best, and this throwing the game to him being insane.
18 May 20 UTC > “Another reason why I'm not drawing. Why draw against those we can easily beat?”

Good night and good luck, gang.
18 May 20 UTC I look forward to the next game, if there is one.
