05 Jun 20 UTC GG all. I enjoyed the suspense. It also really got me thinking about various end game strategies.
05 Jun 20 UTC GG all!
05 Jun 20 UTC Definitely a good one
06 Jun 20 UTC Austria, i feel for you. I'm sorry, i made a mistake on one move that crippled you: i saw the previous turn that you'd attacked Munich from either tyrolia or Bohemia and put in the moves very quickly and supported the move the from place that supported, rather than the place that moved. Had that move worked you'd have been in the game much longer. Thanks for falling on your sword to stop the German victory
06 Jun 20 UTC Germany, what happened? I know the world united against you, but when you got weaker everyone would have started fighting each other again
06 Jun 20 UTC Italy, i really didn't know what you were doing on some of those turns! Probably trying to prove to me that you could throw the game to Turkey, but you came very very close to losing
06 Jun 20 UTC Italy, i voted draw because i thought you would never stop attacking my back line and I'd never have enough units to actually fight you, and more importantly i thought you deserved a draw after helping stop the German solo
06 Jun 20 UTC Turkey: well played. Actually i kind of regret voting draw: it would have been good to have seen how we continued battling. I especially enjoyed the battles in Italy
06 Jun 20 UTC Thanks France. I appreciated that draw vote. And yes, that’s exactly what I was trying to do. Get the draw vote, but also show I was willing to throw the game. I also had less opportunities to send that same message to Turkey directly. So I wanted to make extra sure I was seen as a player who was willing to throw the game.
06 Jun 20 UTC @France: that would have helped me survive a bit longer, but I was kind of doomed by my poor play from the start. My initial mistrust of Italy meant I only got one SC on turn one and, worse, let Turkey into Greece! And I continued to mistrust Italy for no real reason for the rest of the game, which hurt us both. If only I knew then what I know now about playing Austria in gunboat...
06 Jun 20 UTC Mistrusting Italy is a very wise strategy i think, considering that he kept undermining the only player who could have helped him (and kept trying to) against the player who totally undermined him
06 Jun 20 UTC Yeah, but he didn't come after me right away. Austria should always assume Italy WON'T attack in Gunboat so he can get both Serbia and Greece.
06 Jun 20 UTC I also would have been interested in seeing it play out fully.

But things were about to even out, and probably end up dragging. I wasnt confident Id be able to commit moves in time going forward
