Each phase is set to 24hours. You must submit your orders within that time.
When all players have submitted, the phase is closed and the results are published. Then the next 24hour phase starts.
(Remember a 24hour period is different than recurring 'Daily')

you can give each unit 1 order.
You can SAVE the orders and come back to them this phase
You can READY orders to commit them. You are then done for this phase.

Those orders were SPRING phase. Those were all executed at once. If there we battles, then the losers need to Retreat. This would be done in the SUMMER phase. Only those who need to retreat make moves in Summer....
27 Mar 20 UTC Autumn, 1: Since there were no Retreats, the game jumped right to AUTUMN, which is just like the Spring. Place orders and move armies, when complete it will move to WINTER...

However, the year ends with the BUILD phase.
You make your number of units match the number of SUPPLY CENTERS that you own (the dots on the map)
You capture just by being on the space with a SC at year-end.

If you have lost SC, you destroy

Remember you have NOT captured any SC at this point in the game (Autumn)
you must hold it at the end of Winter

I'll make my alliances and general planning fairly public so you all get the idea....
Roma and I are already in a position to fight over islands...

We can plan to split the islands, and not attack each other.
Note that plans are just PLANS, there is nothing forcing us to actually do what we say. The best skill in the game is to know exactly if/when to betray and perform different actions.

All of the non-SC areas are worthless. The map will color itself as you move, but the coloring is completely meaningless.
Only the SCs matter.
You might want to fight over a strategic blank area, but it gives no points or benefits

You can see all the orders that were processed. You can see how Egypt bounced himself.
Bouncing is a very important part of battle
