15 Mar 20 UTC Spring, 1999: Welcome to Diplomacy! We have players new and old in Finland, Scotland and Australia! To keep things fair, let's keep the game-chat on here and not face-to-face.

New players, don't be afraid to ask questions in the public chat about how things work, the game is a little confusing at first but get's simple quickly.

Finally - perhaps we could all introduce ourselves shortly. I'm Cal, 25, Welsh guy in Helsinki just finishing my Nordic Studies master's thesis.
15 Mar 20 UTC Spring, 1999: (Also you all know me!)
15 Mar 20 UTC Spring, 1999: Hi, I'm Tero from Helsinki, Finland and I'm a student in Helsinki Uni. I know Cal and some of the other players from a student organisation, and they are the ones that got me interested in diplomacy.

This is my first Diplomacy game, so I guess... please be gentle (or use the knife well enough)?

I am playing as Peru, so if you know a guy who knows a guy, we might be able to do business.
15 Mar 20 UTC Spring, 1999: Hi everyone! I'm Saimi, and I'm also from Helsinki and study at UH. I've never played diplomacy before so let's see how this turns out :D I'm playing as New York.
15 Mar 20 UTC Spring, 1999: Hi, Im Olli, a student of Helsinki Uni as well, and am playing as Quebec. I have a few games under my belt, but all of them on the classic. Have fun!
15 Mar 20 UTC Spring, 1999: Hello everyone! I'm Saska from Helsinki Uni, as most of us seem to be, and playing Texas.

I have played Diplomacy a couple of times but never online and never anything else than the classic one. Also, never with most of you, so we'll see what happens.

Let's make Texas great again!
15 Mar 20 UTC Spring, 1999: Hi everyone! I'm John, a student at Glasgow where I met Cal back in the day. I've never played diplomacy before so will take any mercy or pity coming my way.

I'm playing as British Columbia, so for Queen and country and all of that!
16 Mar 20 UTC Spring, 1999: Lassi, UH Computer Science, Mexico, been playing now and then for about a decade, no memory of playing this map before though. GLHF
17 Mar 20 UTC Spring, 1999: Hi all! I'm Mat from Brisbane Australia, I've also never played diplomacy before so we'll see how this goes.
