Autumn, 2: Ugh. This is just bad luck on my part. There is not anything I could have really done differently. Its just pure choice. Does Persia choose Egypt? Or Greece? Does Rome choose Carthage? or Greece? Well neither Rome nor Persia chose Greece so looks like it will be an early exit lol

Autumn, 2: The "I couldn't have done anything differently" defense doesn't come into play in full press games. You could ALWAYS have said something else or talked more or less or whatever.
Saying "I did the best I could, the world is out to get me" is no way to learn anything...

Autumn, 2: On the contrary, I am very learned in this game. And I do realize that there are times where these situations just happen. There is no "script" to Diplomacy. People are people. And cannot be confined or understood within a certain frame of mind. Just like in some games I could have done better Diplomatizing, there are other games where there quite literally is nothing I could have done better. Saying otherwise neglects the uniqueness of humanity. Could I have done anything better? Maybe. But unless I am told otherwise, I have no other possibility I could rightly assume or contrive.
