31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: This is my first time playing Ancient Med as well, how about everyone else?
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: Ah.... Greece again. 2nd game on this map, 2nd time Greece. :-)
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: First time on the Ancient Med map. Good luck everyone!

31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: Where is everyone from in real life?
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: I guess I didn't need to include the "in real life" part. I sound like a 5 year old. So yeah, where is everyone from?
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: I'M FROM CARTHAGE! ;-)

I am a pastor from Texarkana, Arkansas, USA. Thus the username: "The Heavy Revy" :-)
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: Nice. I've heard of Texarkana before. I'm from Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Right across the river from Detroit, Michigan.
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: I'm from Zeist, The Netherlands.
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: Shouldn't you guys be in bed? It's 10:35 AM here, isn't it the middle of the night your side of the globe?
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: Yeah. I'm a crazy nighthawk. It is 4:37am here. I work in bars so I am used to being up till the morning.
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: I've been to all the mid and western provinces of Canada, but never East of Manitoba. Beautiful country to the West. Banff is my personal favorite! Calgary and the whole area is just breathtaking! I pastored three years in Washington state, loved every minute of it! IF not for family and my current pastorate, I'd go back to the Northwest in a second! :-)

Texarkana is actually two cities, split between the state lines of Arkansas and Texas. I grew up one city block from Texas. Look at the NW corner of Texas and the SW corner of Arkansas and you will see Texarkana. About 100,000 metropolitan area. Lowest cost of living in the USA. Of course it has one of the lowest wage scales in the USA to go with it! :-)
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: It must be weird to live in a city that straddles a state line. There is a town here that sits on the border of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. I haven't been in Western Canada but when I was in Scouts, we went to a jamboree in Wyoming (we drove through the US) and I got to see some pretty amazing scenery. I really do need to make it out to the West Coast someday though.
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: Yeah, Texarkana has two mayors, two fire departments, police departments. All they share are a border and a water department. BUT the citizens live in it as if it is one city. Unusual but it works!

As for the late hour, yes I should be in bed but pain keeps me awake. Suffered from chronic Lyme disease for about seven years now. Lots of pain and muscle problems. Lots of late nights playing Diplomacy! :-) On that note, I'm going to try and lay down now. Much to do tomorrow! Good night all. Looking forward to the game. Reminds me a bit of the old Avalon Hill Civilization game. An old favorite. Good luck.

31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: Although Windsor and Detroit share an international border, the two cities have enjoyed a very close friendship for many years. I guess that is to be expected since the two cities are connected with both a bridge and a tunnel making travel back and forth relatively easy (yet not nearly as easy as before 9/11). Transit Windsor operates a bus route that goes through the Tunnel and does a loop around downtown Detroit. It is a very easy and cheap way to catch an NHL, NFL or MLB game along with concerts or other events being held downtown. I have always found it so cool that I can hop on a city bus and be in another country in a matter of minutes. Even as a kid, I used to go to the riverfront with my family and stare in awe at the magnificent Detroit skyline while I contemplated the fact that there was a completely different country right across the river.
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: Sydney, Australia (In the state of New South Wales)
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: its 1015 pm here in Oz
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: Well the East coast anyway lol
31 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1: Hello everyone! I'm from Ohio in the United States. Didn't stay up after joining last night as it was around 4 in the morning! This is my first time on this map, it should be interesting!
31 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 1: Is it a little odd that the nations of the Ancient Mediterranean are defended by armies of tanks, or is it just me? I was hoping for little stick figure legionnaires or something =)
31 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 1: Yeah, I saw that. Our tanks are pulled by horses. :-) Didn't know Carthage had subs though! You'd think they would tinker with that! Letters A and F would suffice.
