08 Sep 19 UTC Good game all... Was hoping either France would press in for the elimination points or Germany would reward me for staying loyal and be happy with a survived.

Mostly surprised by Italy lack or willingness to work together. I guess I fell to early leader syndrome and working together didn't seem prudent. You signaled early that you wanted to go for Smyrna so I was surprised when you went west and left all of Turkey for me. I would have been willing to split it. I saw you were coming back, and if I had pushed into Trieste when I had the chance, instead of focusing on Turkey's fleet I might have been in a better position.

Turkey - sorry about abandoning the Jugg. You were just so out of position that I could get away with a weak stab, I regretted it for a moment, but then got lucky (and surprised Italy with the quick progress I think). Perhaps it was a bit early to betray you. If I had waited a bit maybe Italy wouldn't have mounted such a good defense.

Germany, thanks for reading the Finland move. I had no plans to take dots from you ever (even after the Warsaw ping). France holding you back, and then going after you, was key to me having a chance and I didn't want to ruin that. Maybe I should have kept pushing, but I felt it was a good game as is.

Now that I see who I was up against I have to say thanks for letting me play with some heavy hitters here. Let me know if you set up another.

- Stab you later.
08 Sep 19 UTC Looking at stats - I've been a member of the site longer (beat Chaqa by one lazy thanksgiving day 9 year ago), and I've got a better win percentage than any of you (but significantly less games than Chaqa). Forgive me, I love data and am trying to prop up my ego after missing the solo.
08 Sep 19 UTC Good game!

I had hoped France would pick up on my moves basically being a signal that if he kept trying to eliminate me, I’d throw the game to Russia.

England shouldn’t have spent so much time fighting EVERYONE
08 Sep 19 UTC Correction - Maettu joined earlier than Chaqa or me by a month.
08 Sep 19 UTC Chaqa, so hard to coordinate in gunboat. Maettu did a great job using England to hold us off.
08 Sep 19 UTC Holy crap... looking at your profiles this has got to have an effect on my GR I would think. If I understood such things.
08 Sep 19 UTC Oh, and letting you into Sweden had more to do with England not moving to the Channel. Finland didn't really play into it.
08 Sep 19 UTC Ah, check. Well it was a good signal since I didn't need the support.
08 Sep 19 UTC Gg
08 Sep 19 UTC Austria. I wanted to work with you, but when turkey showed jugg and Russia went along, you needed to support me to Aegean right away. Once the turk got two fleets out, i needed to feast on you. Sorry
08 Sep 19 UTC Good game all.

It was a good enough stab, Russia, but I misordered twice, which led to me absolutely crumbling as opposed to holding you off long enough for (hopefully) help to come. It is what it is though, and it's my own damn fault. :-)
08 Sep 19 UTC And you're actually wrong, Russia. I'm the veteran here. And don't tell the mods (actually you can, since they already know, but this is my second account!)
08 Sep 19 UTC @Stackelberg: Sorry about not supporting you to Belgium in fall 1902. That was my initial intention, but I decided against it as I expected Germany to tag Burgundy anyway and didn't wanted to antagonize him needlessly. Never would I have expected that maneuver to succeed ...

@Chaqa: Gosh, that army build in Kiel in 1908 completely freaked me out. That's the most anti-french build that you can do in this situation (right after I finally supported you to London), and let to my spring 1909 moves. Next time just build a fleet, will you?

@KalelChase: You just hit that draw button too early :-)
I was still antagonizing on how to best launch a renewed attack on Germany either this autumn or the year after.
08 Sep 19 UTC I built an army because I needed something to support hold Denmark, and I had assumed you and I had enough fleets already to deal with Russia, so an army would let me move to fight Russia as well.
08 Sep 19 UTC Your fleets were extremely out of position to fight Russia, and a fleet in Kiel can defend Denmark as well, while also giving you the option of moving to Baltic Sea. I was sure you'd move to Ruhr with the army (and thus my moves to counter it). My autum moves were just bad tough, didn't really think them through.
08 Sep 19 UTC Understandable Italy. Not my best showing in 1902 and Russia's strong position in the north meant you were usually better off stabbing me than waiting for Russia to turn on Turkey. Good game all!
