21 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2000: [Near-East]:Whoops, I thought this was a gunboat game.
21 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2000: [Europe]:Nope, just anonymous. Greetings everyone and good luck.
21 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2000: [Near-East]:Yes, good luck to you all. In that case I might as well start to diplome :)
21 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2000: [India]:Diplome away!
21 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2000: [Near-East]:We declare 'Near-East' is a dull name and henceforth will be named the Ottoman Empire. Thank you.
21 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 2000: [South-Africa]:Good luck to you all!
26 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2001: [India]:I hate to do this to you all, but... I'm away for two sets of two days shortly: 30th and 31st March, and 5th and 6th April. It'd be nice to have a pause over that time, pretty please?
Do you reckon it's better to have two 2-day recesses, or avoid potential hassle and have one 1-week recess?
Let me know, Sumeet
26 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2001: [South-Africa]:Heck, I would be fine with a one-week recess over Spring Break. It also lets me get ready for the International Tournament of Towns.
26 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2001: [Libya]:well i guess its fine by me!
26 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2001: [Near-East]:No problem... but I do fear we need to ask a mod to unpause the game again.
26 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2001: [Libya]:yeah
28 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2002: [Near-East]:China and Russia blocking the pause... typical. Could you still vote guys?
28 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2002: [India]:Eh calm down... though fair point, I'm away from tomorrow so I'd appreciated the pause starting soon after that! S
29 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2002: [Europe]:Pausing is not expected on this map. If you can't find the time, find a sitter instead of asking 16 other people to pause. I'm also unpausing, this is nonsense.
29 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2002: [India]:Cheers for that Europe.
Here in the UK, it's coming up to Easter = long weekend so a fair few people will be away. It's also Passover, which is why I'm not able to get online. This isn't me being awkward on purpose, just a simple fact - Diplomacy isn't my entire life!
We've already had one player drop out for whatever reason. Please don't make it so another player has to go because you wouldn't consider pausing.
29 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2002: [South-Africa]:Yes. Here in Canada we have Spring Break for all students sometime around right now and Easter is coming up as well.
29 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2002: [Europe]:My point is simple. With so many people we'll need moderators to pause and unpause, and if everyone of us requests a pause at some point and we decide to accept it this will never end.

As for Easter, guess almost everyone will be affected in some way. But, if we're going to pause let's agree on some time and that when the time is up the game will be unpaused by a moderator.

Look at China for example - he has finalized, and hasn't paused - not saying it's intentional, but if we pause there will probably be some people who won't unpause after.

Personally, I'd appreciate a break around Easter myself, but this should be the exception, not the rule.
29 Mar 10 UTC Autumn, 2002: [India]:Ok, I'm pretty new here so how do we do that?
