06 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1909: Yeah Germany stop being a prat. We all know who the obstruction to the draw is and it's not Austria. As always, respect to the hustle but if you want the solo you'll have to do better than that fren
06 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1909: We can't rebalance ourselves without losing to you until you pull away from the current line quite significantly. So if you *really are interested* (lol) in rebalancing the southern half of the board, move everything back.
07 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1909: It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside
07 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1909: Is it time to draw yet?
08 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1909: Alas, the lonely German does not speak to his Austrian lover anymore
08 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1909: The hills are alive.....
08 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1909: With the sound of music
08 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1909: .
"The Kaiser has ordered a halt to all military activities - units are to hold their current positions."

Wicked Kaiser. All a ruse. Those fleets flocking to MAO certainly haven't held their current position.

Like Shroëdinger's Cat, his position changes everytime you look at him.

IN THE BOX

NOT IN THE BOX

He thinks we won't notice.

Has he even clicked the draw button?

Captain Von Trapp's beautiful wife ponder's his deceitful nature.
08 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1909: .
Italy, our very own Italian Cat.....

Are you IN or are you OUT?
08 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1909: .
Like an Italian dessert....

I Tira Miss U

*weeps silently*
08 Apr 19 UTC Autumn, 1909: P.s. Germany thinks I am stupid and that I have never played diplomacy before.

However, my cake jokes aren't bad.

These are a few of my favourite things.

Heidi, the little Austrian Goatherder
11 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1910: Italy, you are an utter idiot.
11 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1910: .
German Mirror On The Wall
Who is the loyalist of them all
Do I stab my all for the 18th centre?
Or.be kind and draw, like I was meant to

Italian Mirror On The Wall
Silliest or smartest of them all?
We let him live to be a hero
Now he's made us all get zero
11 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1910: .
Quick sum up of the people who have clicked the draw button.

Austria - YES
Italy - YES
England - YES
France - YES
Turkey - YES

Germany... er.... Germay...... Germany?..... you there, Germany?
11 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1910: .
Don't worry folks, his units are all staying where they are. That's right, isn't it? Oh. Right. Well.... oops. That's embarrassing.
11 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1910: .
"The end is all up to you, Austria.

If you're not happy with me being on 17 and sending my fleet down into the med, purely to help you kill every other country, support you into all the remaining 7 centres... I guess I have to take the solo."
12 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1910: .
Germany..... I urge you to make good on all your promises through this game. Namely:

1. You have only ever had one solo in diplomacy because you don't think it's worth the way it makes you feel.

2. You couldn't look at yourself in the mirror if you stole a solo from a loyal ally.

3. Your self worth is most definitely not tied up in a need to solo.

4. You are happy with a large percentage of centres in the draw.

5. You're units are all just going to hold because you are happy wurg your score as it.

6. You have accepted the draw

You made all those points,, many repeatedly.

Were they all lies?

The rest of us have actually accepted the draw. I urge you to click.on the draw button and move on.
12 Apr 19 UTC Spring, 1910: wow. the pot calling the kettle black. go for the solo, you earned it. can't recall how many times I warned Austria of this. it's extremely refreshing to see that it played out exactly how I predicted it would.
12 Apr 19 UTC Correction Russia... though the original board game had black pieces for Germany, with the WebDip version the kettle is now BROWN. Common mistake. ;)
12 Apr 19 UTC .
Have you accepted the draw yet Germany? As you have repeatedly pledged to do?

I had little choice Russia, after you and Turkey jumped me at the beginning of the game.
12 Apr 19 UTC .
C'mon Germany. You don't need the solo to progress.
12 Apr 19 UTC .
And you promised all game not to do it.
12 Apr 19 UTC And Russia, it certainly isn't black or brown pots. I was as loyal to Germany as an ally could be. I was under the impression we had a rock solid alliance.
12 Apr 19 UTC .
I'm still hoping he has some integrity.
12 Apr 19 UTC .
Tell me, do you use that "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" speech and your 'golden rule' of never balancing in every game?
12 Apr 19 UTC Are you okay?
12 Apr 19 UTC I've been played by Germany all game, Italy. I'm cross, that's all.
12 Apr 19 UTC We have/had a stalemate line until you decided to pitch in with him.
12 Apr 19 UTC .
What I want is for Germany to accept the draw as he has repeatedly promised to do.
12 Apr 19 UTC .
Germany is laughing at us all, Italy. Whatever he has promised you will never happen. We are on the edge of nothingness. He has shown his cards and they are all jokers.
13 Apr 19 UTC .
OMG Germany. Are there no depths you won't stoop to.

More metagaming?

I hear you are telling people that if they let you win, then I am one less person for them to contend with in the next round.

What a rat.
13 Apr 19 UTC .
Come to the light side, Italy.

How can getting zero in a game because Germany solo's possibly make it easier to get through to the next round, lol.
13 Apr 19 UTC Moderator: (Durga): No metagaming accusations in global chat. If you have a problem please message me directly and explain to me what you think the metagaming is. From what I can see, no one has metagamed here. So please no false accusations
13 Apr 19 UTC I don't know whether the message counts as metagaming or not but I can confirm having received the type of message Austria mentioned. I wasn't planning on making a formal complaint about it.
13 Apr 19 UTC Seemed like a fairly sensible argument to point out how SoS scoring works
13 Apr 19 UTC At the end of the day this is Italy's fault right, not Germany. We always knew this was the German agenda
13 Apr 19 UTC .
Mary-Poppins-Austria believed him when he said he'd rather cross the line with her together than alone. Because he 'couldn't look at himself in the mirror' if he solo'd against his game-long ally.
13 Apr 19 UTC .
Who's feeling silly now?
13 Apr 19 UTC .
Italy, I'll never understand your play in this end game. I get that you are angry and disappointed, but surely some points are better than none.
14 Apr 19 UTC .
Germany, there is still time to click the draw button you told us you'd clicked.
14 Apr 19 UTC Hey England. Just to clarify, it was me that 'reported' myself to Durga. I explained the situation and cut and paste past messages to confirm that nothing that I was doing was metagaming.

I have never taken this level of abuse (and profanity) in my private message box playing Diplomacy. When I was threatened that if I didn't hit the draw button that I'd be 1) reported for cheating, 2) kicked out of the tournament, and 3) that my user name would be posted on multiple websites for cheating by a player in this game, I wanted to confirm that I wasn't doing ANYTHING wrong. In fact, I think that attempting to coerce somebody to draw a game under threat of actions after the game is over IS against the rules.

I'll absolutely defend Italy's actions btw. If I was in his shoes, I'd do the same. If he is getting a fraction of the abuse that I've been getting in my message box, I'd feel absolutely vindicated to help somebody else get a win.
14 Apr 19 UTC ...and to clarify (for other readers and as England is already aware), I'm not talking about England. :)
14 Apr 19 UTC I've been called a fuckwit and a twat a couple times. Just general petty harassment stuff. Not really sweating it
14 Apr 19 UTC Italy, you are Germany's puppet. You don't seem to realise you have been right royally played, just like the rest of us
14 Apr 19 UTC I'm not a fool, I'm petty. Germany didn't seduce me over with promises. You, and you alone, pushed me to him with your 'diplomacy'. I told you that drawing with 1 is, effectively, the same as 0, and I stand by that. There is no real difference to me.

So I told you I needed growth if I was going to draw, and I gave you a year to start me toward that. After stabbing me years ago, you rebuffed me twice. Then you upped your harassment and demands. "You're with us or you're against us."

Easy choice.

My apologies to England and France and Turkey, but I decided to play kingmaker and I made Germany King.

Congratulations, and good luck to all of you in any of your future games.
14 Apr 19 UTC Yeah I mean I'm not massively bothered about whether it's your fault or Austria's fault but the way in which the non German powers played the endgame was just downright embarrassing. I lost my other game too so I'm just quite bummed that this stupid argument denied me recording any points in the tournament.
14 Apr 19 UTC Good game everyone. A lot of strong players around this virtual game table. I wish everyone the best in game #2 and all of your future Diplomacy games.
14 Apr 19 UTC Moderator: (Durga): Drawing with 1 is not the same as drawing with 0. I'm just putting this out there since there seems to be a big misconception about SoS... Otherwise every game will result in a solo
14 Apr 19 UTC Thanks All.
Well played Germany.
Good luck to who ever makes it to the next round. Unfortunately I’ll not be there.
