07 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Moderator: (goldfinger0303): Alright. I don't believe there is a need to reshuffle any games. And I don't believe I have any pause requests waiting on this one. So you're all set!
07 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Hello Comrades, Mother Russia wishes good fortune on you all.
07 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Good grief. No good fortune in this corner. Italy is the worst.

I don't know how to open as Italy, and I doubt anyone is making big plans with me as the most important part. So I guess I'm just looking for someone, anyone, who wants to work with me.

Hoping someone shows me some love. I'll be helpful if anyone can think of anything to do with me.
07 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: @ Turkey - My Suave Southern Sultan, what do you think about skinny dipping in the black sea?

@ Germany - I wish you the best of luck in finding an ally, and I wish to extend my hand in peace. Naturally, Sweden holds a special place in the Tzar's heart and it would go a long ways if you were to support my desire to vacation in Sweden this Fall.

@ Austria - What is your preference in dealing with Galicia? I also look forward to discussions regarding the Balkans, please let me know if I can be of any assistance in mediating disputes between you and Turkey.

@ England - I hope you find my desire to vacation in Sweden acceptable, perhaps we can have a pool party on the border between Sweden and Norway... but I hope you agree it should be BYOB (bring your own boat) - as English tanks in Scandinavian are so out of style.

@ France - I hope we can work together to bring peace to the lands between us.

@ Italy - My love, I can think of all sorts of things to do to you... I am happy to work with you, but I'll let your neighbors speak up first.
07 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: @Italy pal, you are in luck. I'm a fan of artificial intelligence, so let's do the AI thing.
@Russia - I'm flexible on Galicia and interested in your thoughts there
@Germany - how about some central states peace between us - we have enough to worry about from our external neighbors.
@Turkey - I suspect we're looking at a typical year one between us, but I keep an open mind. Let me know what you would like to do.
@England and France - good luck to you both. I don't see as much for us to discuss this first year, but maybe one of you has thoughts for something, and I'm still willing to listen and consider of course.
07 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Hello World!

I stand by Russia in offering good wishes to all, and, following in the ways of a predecessor, hoping for peaceful intercultural exchange so that the culinary wonder of the Kebab can be shared with the rest of the world!
07 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Morning from rainy London.
I hope for genetelmens negotiations here over the map of Europe. As the final peace is our main goal.
So France I would be pleased to keep ECh as DMZ.
And Tsar, of course I into splittin Scandinavia. As long as there are no armies there.
Last but not least my German friend. What about lower countries? ?I would love to take part into your invasion there.
07 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: "gentlemans negotiations"? you just offered peace to all neighbors. thats impossible.
07 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: I guess England is angling for the seven way draw.
07 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Greetings my friends

France how would you feel about working together? There's certainly no need for us to be at war. I'm happy to declare that Burgundy is a no go zone for myself this turn and I hope you feel the same.

Russia, ahh what great ambitions to have. It is good to dream big and I am nothing if not a fan of great dreams, but the kaiser has no wish to commit until spring has passsed

England, I wish you best of luck. While belgium is not out of the question, any british army there would he seen as hostile
07 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: @Germany - any missive for me? If even just to confirm the typical friendly start between us?
08 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Apologies Austria and other eastern nations. Of course, i extend a hand of friendship towards you all. I'm just a bit busy atm irl so i have to keep the messages fairly short for now.
08 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: @Germany - thank you for the kind reassurance
08 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Well, there's a lot to process here. So let's just dive right in.

-Italy- While I'm not the first to come courting at your door (both Russia and Austria have knocked first), I would like to count myself among your suitors. I don't want to sound like I'm buttering you up, but I can already tell that you seem to be the sort to cut through the bullshit. I appreciate and respect that. You asked to have a plan for someone to use you. I don't have one of those. But I would like to explore a plan of cooperation between us. And maybe together, we can make one.

-England- You have asked for a DMZ in the Channel, and I shall agree to and abide it. You have my word on that. Anything further we can build from there, assuming the DMZ is kept true. Please forgive any tone in my press with you, though. My last game as France saw England begging for an EC DMZ and then immediately breaking it. Judging my new game from the past is neither fair to you, nor your fault. If you can, have patience with me. Thank you.

-Germany- Let me think on the Burgundy problem. I would very much like to come to an agreement where we are both satisfied on its resolution. I would like to find time tomorrow to talk with you more about this, okay?

-Russia, Turkey, and Austria- I've run out of time at the moment for quality press, and I don't want to short change you. I'll talk more tomorrow, for sure. But rest assured that I very much would like to speak with all of you. My apologies!
08 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Glad to hear that France. Let me prove myself as honest one and lets try to see what we can do around Kiel. There is probably clear line we can make our boarder.

And thanks Germany for luck wishes. Same to you. But hopefully there will be no blitzkrieg agenda. And your Lebensraum will not grow as fast as you future leaders want to.
08 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Russia, Austria, thank you. Id love to work with you guys. I might need more help on moves in later turns, but for now ill enter moves that I think you both will like.

France, you get me. Respect. I don’t think we need to talk more this turn, and that’s a good thing
08 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: @France, I look forward to how you wish to approach the Burgundy problem. In case misfortune strikes and I'm not around, I'll just state that as of right now I have not set any move order into Burgundy.

I'm doing a standard Kie-Den, Ber-Kie, Mun-Ruh moveset (for now). I doubt it's surprising to anyone to open as generically as possible, and I think it's a good test for the board to see the weight of my word.

If you would instead like it better to bounce at Burgundy, I would be amenable to that as well.

Ultimately, whatever we decide on this year will decide the fate of Belgium next year. My stance on that should be clarified, because England seems to think I'm against him taking it.

It doesn't matter to me who takes Belgium, so long as it's under friendly control and poses minimal threat to myself. In british hands, that would mean a fleet (because a British army would go where next? Either France or Germany, and more Germany than France). In french hands, an army (Because an army in Belgium that doesn't have friends in the North Sea is no threat at all).

In german hands, well, that would be ideal of course but as the song goes "You can't always get what you want".
08 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Now to my eastern neighbors.

Italy - so long as you don't do something crazy like open to Tyrolia, we're good. Given that you're opening in a way that makes Austria happy, I suspect you won't. Much like me, you'll probably open in a non-controversial way. In the future, there may be room for us to cooperate, but frankly I doubt there's much point trying to convince you to turn west right now - France and Italy go to war in 1901-1902 only as a suicide measure.

Austria, I am, of course, deeply concerned with the fate of your country. A stable Austria is in my interests for now. Beyond mere arguments of a shared HRE heritage, I could your continued existence an important aspect of my medium term security and you can be sure that aggression against you will be answered, provided I'm not forced into a desperate situation.

Turkey - you are sadly, too far for me to say with any certainty that cooperation between us will be likely. But, when the dust has settled and if we're both still around, I think we could be powerful allies you and I. Once our peoples sought to make a rail line from Berlin to Baghdad - and Europe /trembled/ at the idea.

Russia, building on my earlier message, so long as I see nothing untoward from you in the Spring, Sweden shall be the Tsar's in the fall. But, I make no unconditional promises I cannot keep. I am, if nothing else, a man of my word.
08 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: I always find the friendly candor of communications in 1901 to be so refreshing. I hope we will maintain this decorum throughout the game.

@ Turkey - I do enjoy your kebab, please share some when you return to share your thoughts on this Spring.

@ Austria - I too am flexible on Galicia, while an agreed upon bounce is perhaps safest, an agreement to keep it open may build even more trust. Particularly if we can come to an agreement regarding RUM.

@ Germany - I appreciate your candor. You will see nothing untoward from me. I look forward to hearing how your negotiations in the west turn out.

@ Italy - I am glad to hear your initial moves will be to my liking, I look forward to talking more, perhaps in the winter my green friend.

@ France - I too have been burned by an Englishman calling for a DMZ, lets hope that more level heads prevail this time.
08 Aug 18 UTC Spring, 1901: @Russia - I think a bounce in Gal may just be for the best
