13 May 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Moderator: (ghug): Welcome to the 2018 Gunboat Tournament!

You've been placed into seven games. If you're not in seven games, you haven't received each power exactly once, or you feel you've been put in the tournament in error, please contact me as soon as possible.

Games have been paused to ensure that nobody misses a phase due to the abnormal nature of the game starts. If you have not voted unpause by Wednesday, May 15th, I will contact you and begin docking from your seven days of allocated pause time in one day increments. If you need a pause, please let me know.

Good luck!
15 May 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Moderator: (ghug): This game will remain paused until Saturday.
20 May 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Moderator: (ghug): Unpaused
26 May 18 UTC Autumn, 1901: Moderator: (ghug): As our phishing investigation has concluded, this game is being unpaused. I've reset the phase to give you time to get back up to speed, but feel free to ready up before then.

If you have any questions or concerns, address them to, and remember to be careful both here and elsewhere on the internet with your private info.

07 Sep 18 UTC I give up on the solo attempt.. ;-) GG guys, and good defensive work by you both at the end there. A big problem is that I had some mis-entered orders in the south that would've gotten me a better foothold there had I correctly entered them.... Don't know if that could've led to a solo, but I do know that it set me back. ;-)
07 Sep 18 UTC Good game. You were definitely in the box seat there personian, but I was fortunate that Italy saw that a few turns ahead of your attack on me and had already backed off to allow me to defend. There was a turn where you would have taken 4 centres from me if I hadn't defended - and I probably wouldn't have done that if Italy was still pressing hard.
07 Sep 18 UTC I was very wary of you guys sorting out a 2-way draw, but I think the chaotic nature of your units around the Atlantic probably meant that wasn't going to happen. Very happy with the 3-way draw. Thanks to Italy for the good combat and alliances!
08 Sep 18 UTC I will say this was a weird game for me in that I was hemmed in at the start of the game by Turkey & England. I sat there defensively for the longest time hoping for survival. I only made it to the end thanks mainly to Germany, who I thought had a nice game but I brutally stabbed in the end. I still feel badly about that; I know it's part of the game, but it's the part of the game I like least--stabbing an ally who showed great friendship & trust. Sorry about that Germany. :-( If I hadn't done so, I feel like (1) I still would've just sat there in the east hoping for a 5-way or something. In the end I had to choose between Germany & Austria, and attacking Germany made so much more strategic sense at the time, particularly with a growing Italy nipping at Austria....
08 Sep 18 UTC Yes I think if you hadn't helped me so much against Italy then they would have soloed.
09 Sep 18 UTC :( Yes, GG everyone. Well done.
09 Sep 18 UTC I was tempted not to draw there and go for a solo myself. :)
