30 May 18 UTC | GG folks. I lost steam there at the end. Looks like you guys were nicely cutting off my avenues for expansion. At the end there I was trying to eliminate Quebec, but unfortunately BC was thwarting me there (not helping), and it looked to me like, if Mexico continued doing what he needed to do to fill the line against me, there was a chance BC could stab and even get enough centers for a solo. With all those factors against me, I voted draw. ;-) Special congrats to Quebec for working himself into a solo despite his dire situation; well done. :-) |
30 May 18 UTC | I'll also say that I thought Mexico turned against me at exactly the right time. And BC did a nice job adjusting his strategies based on results on his fronts. |
30 May 18 UTC | I'll say one last thing. For me (imho) I think the key move of the game was a number of years ago when I was in the Sea of Labrador. I was going to move to Nunavut in an attempt to get behind the BC lines, but I changed my mind at the last minute. Had I made that move, it would've worked, I would've had a fleet in Nunavut, and that _may_ have changed the outcome, as BC would've needed to completely adjusted his forces. Maybe it still would've ended a draw, but I definitely would've gotten closer. ;-) Again, GG everyone! |
30 May 18 UTC | Yeah great game. I'm glad you helped me out at the beginning of the game Peru, but once I saw that you were close to winning, I had to attack you. Thankfully BC saw this too and allowed me to shift my forces. |
30 May 18 UTC | Thx Personian. And I appreciate the inclusion in the draw :) Very well played all around. |
30 May 18 UTC | Quebec, you should really thank BC for including you, but thanks. ;-) |
30 May 18 UTC | Fun game. Lot of high-rollers at the end. A wild back-and-forth for me in the middle there against Mexico/Heartland/Quebec/Peru. Then things kind of settled down. As for the end game, if my armies had made it over to northeast where I was sending them, I might've considered splitting up the remaining Quebec supply centers with Peru for a 3-way draw. But, there was no way I could just let Peru take out Quebec on his own and be secure that I could hold off a solo. Plus, I did feel like Quebec might've earned a survival. Peru's suspicions were right, too. I thought maybe if we started to roll back Peru and there was still no draw, I might stab in both directions and take a shot for the solo, but with public draw votes, I had to keep my draw vote on or lose the element of surprise. Mexico did pick the right time to stab Peru, but it was cutting it close. I was getting worried. Anyway, good game, especially Mexico/Peru/Quebec! |
