03 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: Hey Egypt, wanted to ask after plans for the alexandria fleet & see if youd like support anywhere this turn
03 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: Italy, I expect a support into paris
03 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: @Germ It has been coded up
03 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: @Turkey: Support hold on Ankara is set.
03 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: Russia,
I would appreciate moving out of Sil.
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: ok. was there to help support. but will move east.
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: Hey England, are you going to be an ass or are you going to back off up north?
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: @Ukraine: Thank you!
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: @Russia: I’m going to be an ass. Which is fair considering your position and history of attacking me I feel
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: @egypt... thanks for the support offer. none needed this turn. alexandria - eastern med
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: So everyone is a draw except for Egypt and Germany. What's up?
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: So everyone is a draw except for Egypt and Germany. What's up?
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: Mines up
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: Ahh Germany I knew you were not actually moving to Paris
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: For those observing, Germ tried for Switz and didnt quite make it
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: Russia I would like to end the game, not fight you, may we have a neutral slovakia?
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: France im sorry that you had to observe Germany and I frenetically lying to each other last turn but the honest truth is i have no interest in anything other than closing the game out, which is what is most conducive to your survival. Can we please support to hold in the west instead of pounding at auv repeatedly?
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: Seeing as how you occupied Slovakia after saying you wouldn't, No. But I won't attack you and will hold the line. Frankly, Germany can't hold Austria, but now has a better defensive position.
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: Turkey, you're in a pickle. how can I and Ukraine help?
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: Italy, I too would like to hasten the end of the game, but I'll attack Auv if I feel it's necessary.
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: @France if you want to keep doing that I suppose it doesnt matter; so OK. That said, there is even odds that Pic moves to Par supported by alsace. So id support hold Par personally.

@Russia, OK. Id ask of course that slovakia not doing anything hostile.
04 Apr 18 UTC Spring, 2000: draw? no dice...
04 Apr 18 UTC What would it take for you to considering it?
04 Apr 18 UTC What would it take for you to considering it?
04 Apr 18 UTC @Russia: You and Ukraine support holding Ankara will be enough. It would probably also help to have an army in Kazakhstan to prevent Turkey from taking Iran in the future.
04 Apr 18 UTC Russia, can you attack Hungary?

Every gain for Italy, in any lands, equate to mutual loss for all, due to SoS algorithm
04 Apr 18 UTC I said I wouldn't and prefer to draw and not get into things. Let Italy keep Austria, it takes too much to defend.
04 Apr 18 UTC Not really since I can cut swi support but I guess that’s fine
04 Apr 18 UTC Italy, Egypt may need some 'persuasion' to draw...
04 Apr 18 UTC @Russia thanks. I am mindful of that...I think its best for me to wait till after the year end turn to review everything. Let me see how quiet my northern front stays this turn before starting what's bound to be a complicated conversation down south.
05 Apr 18 UTC Gg ya'll, I had fun. Congrats to Italy on the big pot, I found our arguments enjoyable. It would've been interesting to see how the Italo-Ukrainian War would've gone down without the stab.
05 Apr 18 UTC Not sure if I played this correctly. Curious for Russia's high ranking opinion. I was hoping to exit the year at 19 builds after stabbing egypt for libya and then possibly pull my draw vote.
05 Apr 18 UTC Id also coded sog to soa, bar -> and, auv-> bar

Mainly lacked confidence to try and take on everyone but was hoping egypt would buy me more time

Thanks to all for the game!
05 Apr 18 UTC Thangs Egypt. Good game all.

I think your chance to win it all was lost when you attacked Ukraine while still fighting France and Germany. It allowed me to 'call to arms' all nations to unite. That said the English/Spain standoff might have left the door open enough for the solo. My opinion, and certainly other events could have swayed things.
05 Apr 18 UTC I I think I actually attacked Italy, not the other way around. I thought that I was going to get the stab rather than Germ.
05 Apr 18 UTC Fair enough. Thanks.
05 Apr 18 UTC Oh i assumed Russia referred to my move on bulgaria after he stabbed you. Maybe wires are crossed.
05 Apr 18 UTC You know what, Ukraine did attack you, but you moved on him the same time. So it wasn't really a Ukraine stab as much as a preventive thrust.
05 Apr 18 UTC Lotta good it did me!
05 Apr 18 UTC I dont think i moved on him that turn...
05 Apr 18 UTC I did move everything north into slovakia that turn, which had the effect of allowing his stab to succeed (vs a bounce if i had been holding and supporting)

But the northern move was just to get leverage on czech for the stab of germany
05 Apr 18 UTC Boring game in my view
05 Apr 18 UTC Part of the problem for Spain was the build (disband) selection/location. One English fleet bottled up three units. Fleets work best with fleets and yours were separated by land. Hind sight evaluation on my part, difficult implementation as your enemies changed over time.
05 Apr 18 UTC Also, England played really well down south.
05 Apr 18 UTC Thanks russia,
05 Apr 18 UTC That was my first game of diplomacy ever, online or face to face. Thanks everyone for making it a fun experience. I really enjoyed the banter. Hopefully we'll run into eachother again sometime.
05 Apr 18 UTC Sorry for being so obstinant regarding the draw offer.
05 Apr 18 UTC I can't believe I lived, haha. Good game, everyone!
05 Apr 18 UTC @Egypt: Very good job for your first game! Don't worry about not wanting to draw, it's not unsportsmanlike to say no to a draw if you think you can do better.
06 Apr 18 UTC Awww no worries Egypt; I was hoping you'd keep being obstinant!
