12 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 3: Alright, I think the integrity of this game has been shot. There are at least 3 "experienced" players in this game (most likely 4). The purpose of this game is to give newer players a chance to learn how to play the game, but if most of us are experienced, what is the point? We can keep going if you want, but I think we should draw this game and actually get some newer players in and an experienced player (or two, at most) to just help the new players along, not to influence the board.
13 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 3: I think this game has worked fine as a learning game. I'm pretty new to Diplomacy and I chose my moves mostly based off of the messages several players sent about working together, etc. I've learned a bunch of things about the game as well just by playing it (support hold is a thing, convoys are a thing, you have to delete a unit if you don't have enough supply centers, non-supply areas don't do anything except give you grounds to move and support move, and most importantly: this game seems to be more about communication than anything else). So I'm pretty satisfied with how the game has turned out.

Also I've once again confirmed what I believed before: that a large part of the outcome of this game is based on where you start. It seems unbalanced that way, and I can't really figure out any way around saying some countries start off with advantages. I might still be proved wrong about that though as I play more Diplomacy.
13 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 3: I don't know if the outcome of the game is necessarily based on where you start, but the strategy you play is definitely influenced by it (more so on the classic map than the mediterranean). I'm glad you were able to get something out of the game, but I'm sure we could've just created a tutorial game for you and it would've had a similar effect to this and would have only taken a lunch out of your day.

I know there are other people who are new to the game and want to join a game, but missed out on this one due to lack of information given to them. I think if we were to do this again, we should have it so the game is not anonymous and unranked so we can dis-incentivize people joining these games just to increase their rank and create a more controlled environment for people to join to learn the mechanics of the game.
