30 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 1901: The first stone has been thrown to shatter the land. There is no going back. Good luck to all you lost souls.
30 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 1901: Sovereigns of Europe! What bitter words could be shared among such friends? Austria-Hungary welcomes its honorable allies. No doubt these rumours of dissidence are spread by the writhing Marxist accretion, hell-bent as they are on the downfall of the civilised classes.

Yes, it is true what you have heard. The workhouses of Trieste and Budapest have begun producing munitions, but the reasons are anything but sinister! What great nation cannot thrive and develop without scientific advancement! We must bolster our civil guard against the lurking threats within. On the streets of Wien no gentleman or lady is guaranteed safety! You will agree that this cannot be allowed!
30 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 1901: The most excellent union of the kingdoms and lands represented in the Imperial Council and the lands of the crown Saint Stephen, or Kaiserlich und Königlich Österreich-Ungarn for short, wishes you enjoy a happy new year and best of luck in this new century. We are proud to announce the opening of Budapest's marvellous underground railway system, which is almost as difficult to navigate as our political structure. Onward to the new age!
30 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 1901: Our Imperial Ombundsman has alerted us to the presence of a number of self-depreciating and ironic implications in our latest communication. On behalf of the Empire, we would like to sincerely apologise. Jokes are occasionally tolerated in the new and progressive Austria-Hungary, but this negative communication was certainly placed by a sleeper agent on behalf of nihilist insurgents. The offending party has been exiled to Slovakia, and we are certain that it will not happen again. However, we would advise all governments of Europe to monitor their own populations for indications of growing nihilist sentiment, and remain, as always, vigilant and efficient.
10 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 1902: From random name: For the retreat phase: I propose we just check ready if we have to retreat, else everyone else has to wait two days (see, I'm already addicted ;)
14 Jan 18 UTC Spring, 1906: Dear lords and ladies, I apologize for my long absence but RL came in the way and did not allow me to participate. Additionally, the situation does not seem to change anytime soon which is why I am sad to announce that I will resign - otherwise contracts and deals will be violated and friendships spoiled for no reason but my non-attendance in the games of war. The race for the east of Europe is thereby open. I wish you all good luck and hope that, the next time war is declared across the Old Continent, I will be able to show that it actually belongs under the reign of the Great Tsardom!
20 Jan 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: For me it's also time to bid farewell to you all. Austria, be aware of Germany and Italy. Sometimes they crush former friends in their midst...
31 Jan 18 UTC Thanks to all you brave humans for participating in this game. Maybe a quiet moment for all those bits that died during the war would be appropriate :-) Congratulations to random_name!
