18 Oct 17 UTC Spring, 1: who is carthage and why aren't they playing
18 Oct 17 UTC Spring, 1: hi i'm new. nice to meat u sorry for bad english :(
19 Oct 17 UTC Autumn, 1: For new players you have to hold in regions that aren't immediately colored when you move in.
19 Oct 17 UTC Autumn, 1: i.e., you have to have a unit in the territory through Autumn if you want to keep it
01 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: An independent investigation initiated by a tribunal appointed by the United Nations has found that the Roman Empire's invasion of territory under the protected sovereignty of the ethnic Carthaginian State is illegal. The international community will not recognize the annexation of North African land to the Romans and commands them to withdraw their forces beyond the Strait of Gibraltar. Failure to comply will lead to widespread imposition of economic sanctions and the discharge of military actions against the Roman State.
02 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: If we were to comply, would the international community dissolve the alliance against the Roman State?
02 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: If the Roman legions withdrew from North Africa the mighty King Xerxes in his infinite wisdom would no longer deem it necessary to mobilize against the Latins, as the rule of law would have been restored. The tribunal may also weigh in on the matter.
02 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: There will obviously be war no matter what. I broke no promises, betrayed no ally, what is special about my position?
02 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: If you betrayed no ally, then what exactly happened to Carthage? Seems odd that he just moved out on his own and you took their land.
02 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: You may have broken no direct promise but an invasion of a demilitarized border is subject to concern. Clearly there was some implied guarantee.
02 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: There was no guarantee, stated or implied. The border was not demilitarized. I was simply polite to Carthage because it was nothing personal- but I thought my intentions were clear when I started moving toward Carthage. Our messengers informed Carthage of our moves up to the point of invasion, I suppose the leadership took that as a peace offering. I thought that my failure to inform them of our moves on the Year of the invasion made clear our intentions, but I did not say them because I knew it might give me an upper hand and I did not expect such a reaction from the international community.
02 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: Whatever the faults in strategy of the Carthaginian leadership, you cannot deny an invasion of a people not mobilized against you. The people of Carthage cry out in their occupied state for liberty and self-determination.
02 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: Clearly the Roman leadership has misunderstood the atmosphere of the world today. The people of every nation are passionate about fairness- enough to end an entire war in order to combat injustice a thousand miles away. Even our own Roman people are rioting in the streets.

But war is inevitable; we can only hope to make it just. Thus, I propose that we form two alliances and fight a single, two-sided, world war.
There is only one fair way to form the alliances: There are 34 SCs, and only one pair of subsets of our scores has two sums of 17 - Rome allies with Egypt against the other three. We can work out the details of the agreements if you are interested. They would look something like, an alliance is not dissolved until the group of them have _ SCs together, and an ultimatum is agreed upon so that any nation that violates the deal is the enemy of the rest of the world until dead.
I think this could make for a very interesting game, if you are interested.
03 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: It must always come to violence it seems. Hopefully one day peace and prosperity will remain supreme. Since I am currently on no active war front I will consider my vote on this matter least among our group.
03 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: i guess that's fine lol
03 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: The mighty people of Greece have moved in favor of Rome's alliance proposition
03 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: The mighty people of Greece have moved in favor of Rome's alliance proposition
03 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: Do we implement this new gentleman's war immediately?
03 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: Yes it starts now.
03 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 5: By agreeing to play along on his terms, Rome has already secured an upper hand by creating a more favorable situation.
