21 Sep 17 UTC | Spring, 1: Greetings everybody! |
21 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: Hello |
21 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: Persia, would you like a pact? I will take Petra this turn and jerusalem next turn. |
21 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: Then we work together. |
22 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: Persia - you know you are messaging all players... |
22 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: Yes, that's the point of public. |
22 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: Carthage, we should bounce in Leptis. |
22 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: so you're publically proposing that you work together with both Persia and Carthage.....who are on both sides of you |
22 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: I keep options open no point in making enemies so soon, when I don't know if either of you even want an alliance. It is standard practice to propose an alliance to all your neighbours and see who wants it. |
22 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: yes that is true......when you can privately message each of them |
22 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: The point of public chat is to create more discourse, this isn't gunboat. It is fun to play when you can't keep secrets. You need to be able to communicate effectively without pissing everyone off. Where would I be if I proposed an alliance to you and declared war on Carthage, then you didn't accept? I would have enemies on both sides. |
22 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: So, are we gonna play gunboat, or negotiate? |
22 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: It is true, means you have to be wiser with how you phrase things. For example, Rome, would it offend you if I moved to Sar next year? we can keep the two seas as DMZ's. It also shows publicly whenever someone breaks their word. |
22 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: Exactly. |
22 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: And if you'd like Egypt, since we both had the same idea, I'll pull out of Phazania and let you take Leptis. I have more room to the North before bumping into Rome, you however can only go so far before bumping into others. |
22 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: I'll even support you there from Marmarica. And as long as we keep the neighboring territories as DMZ's (beside Numidia and Cyrene obviously) there shouldn't be any worries of invasion for either of us. |
23 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: Sounds good! |
23 Sep 17 UTC | Autumn, 1: Seems Rome doesn't like my idea of taking Sar. Greece, you'll have my backing against him. Hopefully that doesn't put me at odds with anyone else by saying that. |
24 Sep 17 UTC | Spring, 2: Egypt, I'll support you against chartage |
24 Sep 17 UTC | Spring, 2: Kind of odd, considering Egypt and I recently set up a deal where he gets Leptis and I keep off the bordering regions. Maybe you shouldn't have tried to start a two front war bud. |
