16 Sep 17 UTC | Brilliant Persia, you needed to fight Rome not me |
16 Sep 17 UTC | Good game, Rome. I tried to send you an early signal that I wanted to attack Egypt and be friendly with you. You used it as an opening to pounce against me, and you had the upper hand the rest of the game. I'll know better than to let my guard down next time. Good game everyone. |
16 Sep 17 UTC | Are you referring to Sardinia-Berber in Spring 2? It would had been difficult to read. The problem with this map is that it is very difficult for Carth and Rome to not fight each other. |
16 Sep 17 UTC | Good game all. |
16 Sep 17 UTC | Yeah, Spring 2. I left the Punic open, retreated from Saguntum, and moved Carthage, Thapsus, and Citra toward the Egyptian border. In hindsight this left me far too vulnerable to your attack, but I was taking a chance and trying to send as unambiguous a message as possible that I wanted to be friends. This is only my second game on this map and my second gunboat. So, the nuances of the map and diplomacy without diplomacy still elude me. But make no mistake, you did an excellent job capitilizing on my poor positioning. |
16 Sep 17 UTC | I see. Yes, in hindsight in makes sense. Difficult to read in fog of war. Sorry! |
16 Sep 17 UTC | Not difficult at all, count the SC |
16 Sep 17 UTC | No apologies necessary. You're approach obviously worked! |
