25 May 17 UTC | Spring, 2000: [South-Africa]:Hello all! This looks like it will be an interesting game. At the expense of perhaps seeming too formal, I'd like to begin with announcing claims. As of now, unless they are contested, these are my claims: Zambia, Mozambique, and the BAT. |
25 May 17 UTC | Spring, 2000: [Brazil]:Who wants to humiliate South Africa for claiming stuff? |
25 May 17 UTC | Spring, 2000: [South-Africa]:Claiming is standard practice for sucessful diplomacy, so drop the sardonics. |
25 May 17 UTC | Spring, 2000: [USA]:Just claiming things makes you look like you're land-hungry. I've made alliances in the past just to take down a player that sounds like they're controlling the game. I would advise against claiming things. |
25 May 17 UTC | Spring, 2000: [South-Africa]:Notice how I said "unless they are contested." Conveying your intentions in the first turns is vital to prevent early mistakes. |
25 May 17 UTC | Spring, 2000: [Argentina]:Brazil, to ensure there is nothing but peace between us and as a symbol of goodwill and my desire to cooperate with you, I believe we should DMZ the West Atlantic Ocean |
27 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 2000: [USA]:It said Ghana went into civil disorder, and now Babyburger is controlling them. Does it auto-kick you if you miss 2 turns in a row? |
27 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 2000: [Ghana]:Yes, it does. |
27 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 2000: [Ghana]:I once joined a game that took 5 minutes per turn. Unfortunately the last member joined when I was sleeping. At that time (years back), this feature was not implemented. As a result, I was missing turns continuously and my reliability rating crashed. It took me several years (I don't play that much) to build it back up barely above 90%. |
29 May 17 UTC | Spring, 2001: [Near-East]:New Near East player here |
29 May 17 UTC | Spring, 2001: [Oz]:Good on ya, mate |
09 Jun 17 UTC | Autumn, 2003: [USA]:Congratulations Ghana on being not dead |
11 Jun 17 UTC | Autumn, 2003: [Ghana]:Thank you, I suppose. |
14 Jun 17 UTC | Autumn, 2004: [Quebec]:Hey, I join the game |
14 Jun 17 UTC | Autumn, 2004: [South-Africa]:Welcome to the party, pal. |
14 Jun 17 UTC | Autumn, 2004: [USA]:Uhh oops good-bye, Quebec. |
14 Jun 17 UTC | Autumn, 2004: [India]:unfortunate timing |
16 Jun 17 UTC | Autumn, 2004: [China]:China's back in the house, back by popular demand! |
16 Jun 17 UTC | Autumn, 2004: [South-Africa]:Apparently not, judging by your current size. |
23 Jun 17 UTC | Autumn, 2006: [Near-East]:I guess I am now the second new near east player? Hello all |
