it usually works unless greece is as hellbent for rome as i was for you. but once you pick your victim it never makes any sense to change. i also find that for rome, taking out carthage is the only chance for victory

that's all i used in my initial assult. but yes greece with no pressure from persia and rome going for carthage and vice versa sets up the grecco win scenario.

Yeah. I was quite surprised that Persia didn't push a further attack on Greece but I guess I wasn't very helpful to that situation
