01 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1909: eog for Austria

I rank this as my best ever Diplomacy achievement. I havn't ever played Austria before and I was nervous about the prospects of going out early with Austria.
I managed to form a good working relationship with Italy from early on and our strengthening Alliance enabled me to start strongly by safely acomplishing the Balkan Gambit in 1901. Even more satisfying I ended 1901 in a strong position by occupying GAL.
The continuing Alliance with Italy allowed me to play strongly against RT to pressure against RUM & BUL. From an early point I strategically resolved to bottle Turkey up and allow only BUL, and then to invade Turkey from the South. Italy was going to do this but then pulled out when he went into a deadlocked War with France. This set plans back about a Year since I had to raise an Austrian Fleet to accomplish the mission.
Russia then left the game when he was on 4 SC's, just as Turkey had his last chance to fight back against my approaching encirclement on Turkey. This meant that I was able to easily ovverun Turkey.
The remainder of the Game progressed fairly uneventfully with France v England continuing to fight eachother and thus handing me an easy Victory, neither of them seeming to be willing to unite to prevent the Solo.
Sorry to Italy that I did stab you to get the win - our Alliance from Year dot was the thing that enabled me to build the strength to win, I owe you thanks.
Thanks to France & England for playing a good game and surviving to the end.
Thanks to everyone who played in this Game, the standard of play was good - most positively this is about the first Game I've played in where every Power moved in 1901 - it shouldn't be that rare :-(
01 Mar 10 UTC Spring, 1909: nice eog... I should wirte one.. lol...
02 Mar 10 UTC After the war is won the Socialist Kingdom of Italy will regain its sovereignty though peaceful diplomacy and its relationship with the Austrian Empire will be prosperous and friendly. We've only been annexed to help the war, no hard feelings.
