26 Jul 16 UTC | I was a bit annoyed at the end that I was out of the area of my computer and couldn't make it to the last phases. But wow! That was an intense game, and I had a great time attempting to fight off Turkey with Germany's short-term help. Good game, everyone. |
26 Jul 16 UTC | Good game guys! Yeah, I was disappointed Spain wasn't able to defend himself in Italy, because the fight up north was going to be very fun and decisive. Honestly, I had given up at one point, and the only reason I didn't draw is because I wanted to eliminate Russia. I was even considering giving up a bunch of SCs to Germany just so he wouldn't be so fearful of me, and so he'd stop protecting Russia. Luckily the tides turned XD |
26 Jul 16 UTC | Spain, why did you attack me at the end? That made it impossible for me... I had my first ever NMR in this game (from almost 4500 moves entered), due to crossing the international dateline for work travel and screwing up the dates on my computer. It showed me as having one extra day to enter my moves than I really had. Took me a while to figure out what had happened. I only abandoned Russia because I had NMRed and that meant Turkey could clean Russia up. Turkey would have had to draw its units back VERY far for me to have abandoned Russia otherwise, as I had only fleets up there, which would have made it hard to hold. Anyway, fun game. Mostly glad I could eliminate Poland, the nasty stabber, while holding off Spain. |
26 Jul 16 UTC | This is where no communication really gets inconvenient. I knew you'd think I was attacking you, but I wasn't going to take your supply centers. You had fleets on the North Sea coastline, and if I didn't NMR, I would have support held Munich. I figured that if I was in Ruhr, I could support hold your position in Fra if Saxony ever had an issue. I'm being 100% honest. As for the English Channel, I didn't know if you were just bouncing yourself out or if you actually wanted to take it. And so I figured I wouldn't let that happen. Especially since that would put me in a bad place. Probably a bad decision on my part but I wanted to cover my bases at least. We had a good run for most of it. I was so looking forward to taking Italy completely and actually supporting you into Austria and Hungary since I could see that was the direction we were going to move in, had we not NMR'd. Libya was the toughest for me. Turkey dug in deep, that was incredibly difficult to deal with. All in all, I enjoyed it. |
26 Jul 16 UTC | Survived!!! |
26 Jul 16 UTC | Haha Germany I only stabbed you because you made a move that appeared threatening, and after I countered I figured you would try to recounter - and given no Comms couldn't backtrack. My NMRs is what really killed me though, and I humbly apologise to all. |
27 Jul 16 UTC | Can't imagine what move that was Poland, but it was probably anti-Turkish or maybe anti-Italian. I really wanted to prop you up against the Turkish menace. Oh well... |
27 Jul 16 UTC | Ha Poland was a wild card for me like the whole game. He felt like an ally at times, taking down Russia with me, but always tried to cut my support and shit... tough to read. |
27 Jul 16 UTC | Looking back, I guess you were way more of an enemy. I didn't remember how much you did to protect Russia. |
27 Jul 16 UTC | Turkey, our fight for North Africa and the Mediterranean was insane. I really enjoyed it, I can't stress that enough. Way too much fun duking it out over the coastlines. |
27 Jul 16 UTC | Holy crap I agree. It wasn't my original plan to push the south too hard, anywhere west of Egypt. But when Italy was too beefy and you were squishy down there, I found some new momentum. That was a really solid defense of Tunis though. So many turns, I thought I might be able to take it. Especially after Algeria was mine. |
27 Jul 16 UTC | Haha I was friendly to start Turkey, but you grew too explosively quickly, and with all your units concentrated against Russia I felt it was only a matter of time before I was next so decided to prop him up after taking a couple of SCs to ensure I wasn't completely irrelevant. Didn't help much unfortunately. GG all |
27 Jul 16 UTC | "hey, let's play modern gunboat!" -> nmr in spring 94 sorry guys. |
27 Jul 16 UTC | Yeah... kas' got a good old Ukrainal pounding early on. |
27 Jul 16 UTC | Lmao |
