01 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1902: Because trying is more fun! Actually it's your choice. I get it.
01 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1902: When Austria gets ganked early it tends to make it futile. If I were Russia I might make a go of it. But thank you for respecting my decision.
01 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1902: I don't respect it. I have been playing dip for 25 years and never respected giving up or throwing games. In the face to face hobby it's frowned upon, in the European hobby it's not even slightly accepted. It makes the game totally random, the winner had to be lucky about who goes apologize.
01 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1902: Goes awol
03 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: Yeah I also don't think going AFK is a proper choice. Even with one unit you can change the tide of a game. If I start losing pretty hard I usually try to ally up with someone, even an enemy to try to stay alive in the game (sometimes you can even come back from a huge stab.)

Like even now Serbia could support Rumania into Budapest.
03 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: Gee thanks lol
03 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: @_'-' huheuheuheue
03 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: Or Serbia could support Budapest into Rumania :p.
03 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: When I'm losing I try to swing the game away from those attacking me. It does no good, but I feel better.
03 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: There always seems to be several of them.
03 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: Lol its ok bud your doing pretty good right now!
03 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: For now :). I've always thought Paris was nice this time of year.
04 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1903: Russia didn't move. I'm glad you stuck in so far. It does go against the British tradition of fair play to go on with AWOLs, but that's how these people seem to like it in this club. Let's see if Russia comes back in.
04 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1903: meant for turkey, but still for all of us
05 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1903: this game passed being fair a long time ago.

Could we a) cancel or b) eliminate thos who have nmr'ed and vote draw?
05 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1903: I'll go with the consensus.
05 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1903: I see 2 cancels and a draw, so I'm pushing cancel. I don't believe in controversy, i just play. I don't even know how to eliminate nmr pplayers. I'm willing to change to a draw. Turkey, where's your vote? Why don't you continue to head up the outcome, please.
05 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1903: I'm playing on as long as people play, but it's a worthless game when people nmr or just order hold
05 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1903: I'm playing on as people play too, but my view is that nothing is worthless. Sorry for sharing philosophy, but it keeps me happy.

There is always hope
05 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: hal9000 is from what, space odyssey?
05 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: why dont you other guys (Italy, Germany, England, Austria) vote draw? You think this is a fair game? You aim to make it worthwhile playing? You dont want those who gained from nmr's to win?
06 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1903: oh, greedy germany doesnt want anyone but himself to benefit from nmr in Russia, bounces me in Sev. Funny thing.
07 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1904: Can we get a mod to cancel this or s/t since Germany obviously isn't gonna vote?
07 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1904: Im not going to either....
07 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1904: And Italy, yes. Still, majority rule though.
07 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1904: It doesn't matter if majority rules the minority is losing so.......
07 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1904: How does it really work? When would a mod step in?
07 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1904: It is against the Webdip rules for a mod to end a game unless a multi is in play
07 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1904: I don't get why this is making such a big fuss. I was going to cancel at the start but then as the game progressed France, Me, Italy and Russia were all doing decent. I think that is a pretty fair balance of power. Austria could have allied with Italy or Russia to stop himself from being invaded.

@Turkey if you are so annoyed at games where someone NMR'd not being canceled why did you join this one in the first place? You could have worked with Austria against Italy/Russia to turn one against another. Also Russia nmr'd last turn which is unfortunate but that's not a valid reason to cancel. Otherwise next time I'm losing a game I'll NMR and then ask for a cancel since it's not fair because people benefited from it.
07 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1904: Wah wah. You're a character.
07 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1904: Italy anyways. Fair enough at Germany.
07 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1904: Also not trying to be mean here but Turkey your profile page literally says :

"My quest is to take up replacement positions. No position is too hopeless to deserve a serious effort! At least I'll give you non-quitters the benefit of an active defender to eliminate."

Some games are just hopeless for winning, just go in trying to fuck everyone else up as much as you can, it's free practice if you care about the points anyway since you don't need to bet in.

I'm in another game right now where I am Austria in an anon game where the only press Italy sent me was to "protect myself", Turkey hasn't sent me a single word (attacking me ofc) and Russia afk'd the last turn and also hasn't responded to any press. Now that's a game i wouldn't mind canceling.
09 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1904: Now all active players are alive and all nmr:ers are gone. Please draw.
10 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1904: I'm pushing my draw button again in support of fair play, but I don't expect that a draw will occur soon.
10 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1905: We will think about it Mr Turkey
11 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1905: it's interesting that those two powers who benefitted from Russia disappearing and Austria doing suicide hold are the two powers who doesnt want a draw or cancel. Perhaps the rest of us should ally against them and force a draw.
11 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1905: perhaps you should send the potentially interested parties(party?) a one on one message.
11 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1905: 2 more messages directly to turkey and no response. I don't get it.
11 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1905: finally!
11 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1905: hey, your last message didn't include any question , it ended "I'll get back to you"...
11 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1905: oops
11 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1905: Germany idk about you but I'm getting tired of his yapping
12 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1905: it's a bug in this system that we have to wait for turns that is pointless. For example, now we're waiting for Russia to order Ukr disband when there is nothing else to do. And sometimes you get to wait for a retreat that has to be disbanded because there are no alternatives.
12 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1906: And then there were 4.......
13 Apr 16 UTC Hey, draw anyone?
13 Apr 16 UTC All for it.
14 Apr 16 UTC Draw ballot has been put up
14 Apr 16 UTC Good game everyone, would love to play more but getting a little busy lately too. GL in future games.
14 Apr 16 UTC Thanks for the good game everyone, despite the problems.
