10 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 2004: I have to say, that Mex/CA/Tx alliance is impressive. I have never seen that go this far
10 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 2004: Good game.
15 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 2005: GameMaster: thegingerhitman was banned: Multi/Meta/No Reply. The time until the next phase has been extended by one phase length to give an opportunity to replace the player.
Remember to finalize your orders if you don't want to wait, so the game isn't held up unnecessarily!
15 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 2005: New Quebec here. How is everyone?
15 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 2005: I am fine, thanks how about yourself?
15 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 2005: Pretty good. I see I'm getting invaded but that's fine :P
15 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 2005: That's what you chose for :)
21 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 2007: I have set to draw. Given that the game is sum-of-squares scoring I do not feel the need to fight to the death. We can all walk away with something. Right now my focus is on beating back A Mexico stab. When Mexico realizes that he cannot solo I will be happy to welcome him into the draw.
21 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 2007: Texas and I have been talking, and we agree that drawing this game would be a good idea since it is set to sum of squares scoring which would give everyone points based off how well they did.
21 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 2007: Quebec is right. However, Mexico, I've already asked you to cease and desist. I again ask you to consider whether or not you think you can solo. If you think you can, go for it. If you think it is unlikely, then please draw.
22 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 2007: I, for one, will withdraw my draw vote and keep it off if Mexico does not draw this phase. I think it is a moral hazard to allow a player a solo shot with no downsides. So, the choice is to gamble all of your points and go for a solo, which I think you cannot achieve, or draw wth the other players. I want to make clear that the choice is black and white. Go for solo and achieve it or lose everything, or draw now and get some points.
No, it does not matter that California has not yet set to draw.
22 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 2007: Hey all! I'm still trying to get my head around how these online games work, where players are playing 4-20 games simultaneously, accessing the games but not placing orders, picking up a civil disorder half way through the game only to call a draw. And probably the most interesting, not basing the game on communication and diplomacy but rather relying purely on tactical moves. I'm an old school player where you'd play one game on a board in an afternoon or over a few months with friends. There the incentives of the game are quite clear.

Here's my thinking on this game. I've spent over a month and dozens of messages to get into the position I am. Not much of a stabber myself, but when I saw players not being very active, I decided to spice it up. After all, to call a draw with the other two largest nations, while the other 5 nations do not even place orders seems very silly to me. After all there are a few active players, so why not play, with them. I'm here to play and not to call a draw and pick up some points. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against a draw that comes from a good alliance after ridding the continent of a strong opposition. But that just was not the case. Most players that are under attack just stop placing their orders, while still logging in and playing other games and watching this game.

I'd like to make the game interesting, otherwise it's really only wasted time.
22 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 2007: Hi Mexico, I am a veteran of the board game as well. It may be that other players have come in half way through then chose not to plot. I cannot speak to that. Evidence is clear that I am not one of them. A simple check of my stats will indicate that I have a 100% reliability rating. To go for a solo here is not simply spicing the game up. It is a strategic error.
I will play until the end, whatever that is. Let's have a good game then.
22 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 2007: Thank you Texas for the advice. First time playing this map, so you might be correct that going for a solo win is a strategic mistake. I might still be working towards a draw after a proper battle. There are still 6 players here, and currently I'm really only threatening your soil. This can open up opportunities for other nations to make a come back.

And yes, let's have a good game!

29 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 2009: Hello! I am going to try and defend California from what is an unprovoked Mexico attack and then see where the game takes us.
29 Mar 16 UTC Autumn, 2009: thank you for coming in and making the game more interesting. not very enjoyable attacking a sitting duck. put up your shields. btw, one of california's last moves was to move on my borders. so unprovoked is not true.
