Not a huge fan of SoS in general, but in this game the numbers seem pretty fair - France and Russia (each spitting distance from a solo) had bigger payouts than me (best I could possibly hope for was a draw).
Of course, I'd have preferred the bigger payout I would have gotten from DSS, but it is what it is.

It is interesting of course to note that if the split were 26/26/12, you would have received back less than your initial wager (230/230/50). If the final SC split were 31/31/2, the payouts would be 254, 254, 2.

Right, and that's one of the reasons I don't like SoS very much. But my main problem with SoS is that it incentivizes stabbing between otherwise-equal allies more than DSS does; that didn't really seem to come into play in this game.

Well played gents. There are obviously pros and cons of both formats, but I generally agree with you, guys - anyone who ends up sharing the draw has no business ever getting back less than he put in imo. If it's called Diplomacy, you should at least get a small reward for being diplomatic ;)
