Probably it was because some of my turns gave the impression that I would support him. And, actually, I was willing to support him to a degree, but not at the cost to me.
Also, you might have had won, or at least had a good chance at winning, if you hadn't missed a crucial turn. I've been there myself. It's frustrating to miss or mess up a turn, and sometimes it has an impact. You have to be able to live with that.

I've missed one turn (and that was in a live 5min game where I just HAD to go!) in the entirety of my playing career on this site. So that statement is entirely inaccurate. The transfer of units from defending against you to attacking me, was astonishing.
