Remember to finalize your orders if you don't want to wait, so the game isn't held up unnecessarily!
24 Feb 16 UTC Well played, New York, to bounce back like you did!
24 Feb 16 UTC Not really, it was incredibly boneheaded and resulted in you winning a solo.
24 Feb 16 UTC The boneheaded move was the stab against me, in my opinion. We would've won the game easily and had a two-way draw if you hadn't stabbed me.
24 Feb 16 UTC For the record I tried to keep you alive, kill off Florida and get a three-way draw, but NY wouldn't let me, and I didn't want to settle for a four-way in the position I was in.
24 Feb 16 UTC perhaps. it's always tough to judge things in games like this where there is no communication at all. we had found a nice way to work together for a while, but it was becoming clear that you were positioned to grow a lot more, and were already much bigger than anyone else on the board. i pretty clearly signaled to the rest of the board that we needed to work together or else you would be able to solo, but rather than doing the smart thing and pushing south against you, heartland and new york just tried to grab a couple centers from me. at that point we were all doomed, so i decided to abandon all my centers new r you so that at least you, who had been a good ally, would get the solo and ny and heartland wouldn't get included in any draw.
24 Feb 16 UTC i play a lot of in-person games and at tournaments, but only a little bit online. i think i'm still not used to the fact that in these online games there is a lot more consistent ally play. in tournament play the idea that you would allow people to share in a draw if it was possible for you to solo is absurd and would get you laughed off the board. so you have to be a lot more wary of people that you have been working with.
24 Feb 16 UTC Ah, right! I've only tried the board game once, and thus 99% of my experience comes from this place right here. I've found that alliances tend to stick in gunboat, as it eliminates the risk of others plotting against you behind your back.
