27 Nov 15 UTC Spring, 1994: Ok everyone welcome to your first game. I will only be defending.
You interface has a list of units that you have and a drop-down menu of commands. These are

Move, Support Hold, Support Move, Hold, and for Navies potentially transport.

Use move to order an army or navy to move to another region. Armies can move to any adjacent land region, while navies can move to any adjacent sea region or coastal region.

Use Support Hold to order an army or navy not to move but to support an army or navy that is also not moving. Support means that the two units will be considered combined for battle.

Use Support Move to order an army or navy not to move but to support an army or navy moving to another region. FOR A UNIT TO SUPPORT MOVE IT MUST BE ABLE TO HAD MOVED TO THE REGION IT IS SUPPORTING TO.

Support is always targeted at a region but that region must either have a unit there or a unit moving to it.

So for example Moscow Army can support Warsaw Army if Warsaw army does not move. But it cannot support a movement of Budapest army to Galicia because Moscow army itself could not move to Galicia.

You can use support hold and support move to support the armies and navies of other players.

You can send messages it two ways. Click on global to send messages to all players in the game. Click on specific country to send messages to a specific player so that other do not see it.

You may attack me. I will not attack anybody but I will set my units to defend each other.

Each region you control with a city on it gives you the possibility of raising extra units every two turns.

Battles happen when two units from opposing sides enter the same region. There can only be one unit per region. A battle is won by the side with the more units engaged in the battle. Units engaged are the moving unit and any supporting units. Every unit is worth one battle point.

To set orders, choose orders and then press ready. If you do not set orders by the time the phase is over your units will assume a unsupported hold position

Do not worry about making mistakes in your first turns. Take it easy. The point is to have fun.

Once you have given orders always remember to click on ready!

It goes without saying that you may attack me as well everyone.

Convoys

To do convoys you need the army to be to a coast area adjacent to the sea area of the fleet which is adjacent to the coast area you want to land. I think you order the army to move to the other coast are (and it should have an option via convoy). And then you order the fleet to convoy the army. You can convoy another players army and be convoyed by their fleet though it requires coordination.
28 Nov 15 UTC Autumn, 1994: Russia, what are your intentions on your campaingn to the south?Should Ukraine and GPP retaliate,or are you friendly?
28 Nov 15 UTC Autumn, 1994: They shoul retaliate my intentions are conquer mediterranean sea.
29 Nov 15 UTC Autumn, 1994: This is the army building turn. If you have more supply centers (provinces with a dot on them) than navies and armies, you can build new ones until your centers are equal in number to them. You can only build in centers that belong to you and do not have a unit already there.

If you have fewer SC than armies and navies, you must sacrifice forces until they are equal.

12 Dec 15 UTC Spring, 1998: Ok everyone, I believe you have gotten enough information for your papers. I do not require players to continue playing anymore, of course you can go on to your hearts content.
12 Dec 15 UTC Spring, 1998: also States do not talk that way (I am grinning, but serious enough as to not put an emoticon).
13 Dec 15 UTC Spring, 1998: Sir,with all due respect; The Grand Principality of Poland talks however it wishes.
14 Dec 15 UTC Autumn, 1998: That would be the case outside of class. However, do not forget that this is still a part of course-work., and thereby all rules of behavior that hold in class hold here. Just remember that as a general principle when dealing with academic matters.

The enthusiasm of you all is appreciated, but prudence is also wise.
19 Dec 15 UTC Autumn, 1999: Yo Egpyt, why do i always have to fight?Like your enemies always leave the game and I have to sit here and chase rats...
