07 May 15 UTC Spring, 1901: A gentle reminder to everyone about how to take neutral Supply Centers (SCs). If the SC is neutral - so, take Spain as an example right now - and I move my army from Marseilles (MAR) into it, I will only gain a build if I have a unit IN THE SQUARE on the Build phase. If, for example, instead of staying in Spain, I raced in the Autumn to Portugal (POR), I would only gain one build, not two, even though Spain would look like I owned it. If this does not make sense, holler.
11 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1901: Since we are now nearing the point in our game where units will come into contact with other units, let's talk about Retreats.

First, a unit must retreat if it is dislodged from its current space. Second, a unit cannot retreat into the space which was previously held by the actual unit that displaced it. Third, a retreating unit can move into ANY other open space, even if that space contains a Supply Center (SC). When planning your attacks, you have to remember that a dislodged (retreating) army is going to pick the most annoying, advantageous space that is open. Plan accordingly.

However, it is important to know the following: in the Spring / Autumn, you enter moves. All of those moves resolve PRIOR to the retreat phase, so you can - if you plan properly - move your units into open spaces, thereby denying your opponent retreat squares, since those moves resolve before the Retreat phase does.

Holler if this does not make sense.
23 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1904: General question: Does anyone here use the Diplomacy app? The reviews on it aren't very good, but would love any 1st hand feedback before spending the $2.99.
26 May 15 UTC Spring, 1905: Folks might want to google "Juggernaut" as it relates to Diplomacy and decide if the board will step up to stop the Russian / Turkish wave. They are at 13 and counting . . .
