06 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1901: ^ I like this guy already :-)
06 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1901: You all better hope there are no women here, or they will be helplessly captivated by the swarthy, hot-blooded latin charm of the macho Italians! Hey baby, how YOU doin'? None of you cold fish stand a chance!
06 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1901: Puh - leeese, French wine and cuisine beats out spaghetti and chianti any day, brother :-)
06 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1901: How about bears and vodka?
06 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1901: Typical. All you can think about is wine, beer, vodka? I have no need to get my women drunk, paisanos, unless it be on the words of love that cascade from my eloquent tongue!
06 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1901: We have hitler...
ok on second thoughts maybe a sore point
06 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1901: look up chaps, it's good ole fashioned English swagger that wins the hearts of a fine lady.
06 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1901: ^ I'm actually not sure which of those two is funnier :-D
07 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1901: Sorry, I'd say something funny, but my normally rapier wit seems to be failing me. I'll check back in later and see if alcohol has improved my slow witted tongue.
09 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1901: So did you not drink enough to become funny, or drink too much to type? The longer you make us wait, the funnier your eventual proclamation needs to be, you know.
09 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1901: Undeniably the latter. I'll continue building myself up to be something better than I am, and we'll see what comes of that.
16 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1902: Germany nmr?
16 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1902: No, just all holds.
23 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1903: Are we going to sit idly by as 1903 slips past without a single spamming of the global chat? No, I say! I will be the hero you need, if not the one you deserve. Some notable happenings in the past year:

April 29 - Earthquake in Manzikert, eastern Turkey, kills 3500 people, 20,000 animals, and destroys 12,000 homes.

May 29 - Serbian king Alexander I, and Queen Draga assassinated in Belgrade.

June 25 - George Orwell born.

July 1 - First Tour de France bicycle race held.

August 4 - Pope Leo XIII dies, succeeded by Pope Pius X.

September 29 - Prussia becomes the first place to require driver's licenses.

November 17 - The Russian Social Democratic Labour Party splits into two groups, the Bolsheviks and Mensheviks.

And across the pond...
December 17 - Wright brothers achieve the first documented, successful heavier-than-air flight. European heads of state dismiss the newfangled technology, secure in the belief that land and sea power will be all that is needed to carry them through the current hostilities.
23 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1903: There should be a variant with planes
23 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1903: There are variants with planes.
23 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1903: Just not on this site (planes can move wherever they want, can support stuff and be supported but do not capture SCs, i.e. even if you have a plane in your enemy's SC i autumn it won't change owner, he just won't be able to build there)
23 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1903: Are they available from the start (ie 1901)? I think it would be cool if you started with only armies and fleets, and planes became available in 1910 or so.
23 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1903: Hahah, I think they are available from the start, but it wouldn't be too dif. to code availability from 1910
26 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1903: Too complicated, but planes should really be used in a fog of war variant. They wouldn't be able to take anything, but would let you see all of your adjacent territories. Armies and fleets could only see the territory they are in.
26 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1903: It should take an sc to build/maintain one, but they should be able to occupy the same territory as an army or fleet.
26 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1903: That would be waaaay to complicated. And planes capturing a city in the Great War, or any war for that matter - that would be interesting, can you give an example? : D
26 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 1903: I agree about it being too complicated. I think that I was unclear the sc part. What I meant to say was they could not capture an sc, but they would be built under the same rules (1sc per unit) that armies and fleets require. Basically just reflecting that in the Great War planes were a novelty. All they were good for was propaganda (aces as heroes), recon, and shooting each other out of the sky.
29 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 1904: Oh man, why did I cut Aegean Sea's support? We could have had the rare "three separate supported attacks bouncing off each other" in Bulgaria!
03 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1904: Good game Germany!
03 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1904: Good game
03 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1904: Meanwhile in Russia, the Czar lies comatose in a cloud of vodka fumes...
03 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1904: You were surprisingly correct - I was on a Polish wedding and indeed lied in a cloud of vodka fumes.
07 May 15 UTC Spring, 1905: And now Turkey passes out - it's an epidemic! My god, I hope it's not contagious, I'm in close contact with both of them.
07 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1905: I apologize greatly. I thought I had a bit more time.
07 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1905: Well....should my Island now find itself invaded and destroyed I think we should draw now...in the spirit of all things being fair

:D :) :l :/ :'(
07 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1905: sad panda
07 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1905: MY DEATH SHALL NOT BE IN VAIN!!!
...
or actually yes it will
08 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1905: good game Austria
08 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1905: You could invade Prussia with your last gasp and erase all evidence of German culture from history - that's something. I don't know what exactly, but definitely something.
09 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1905: I shouldve hit warsaw
09 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1905: Or Munich. Who'd have thought two of the three centers you could have hit would have cleared out. It would have been like winning the lottery if you could have guessed right and snuck into one!
09 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1905: Would've been hilarious
11 May 15 UTC Spring, 1906: Today was Mother's Day here in the U.S. Went to Mom's and spent the day with her, my grandmother, my two sisters, and my niece. Even my mom's dog and two cats are female. Then a neighbor lady came over with her daughter and the daughter's five day old daughter to show off the baby.

My fear is that, by long exposure to such concentrated estrogen levels, I might be inclined to be soft and compassionate and nurturing, which is not really my diplomatic style; or that my body spiked testosterone to compensate, and I might be inclined to attack everyone for no good reason, which is not me either.

Therefore I will get a good night's sleep and hopefully normalize. With luck I shall be back to normal tomorrow and able to diplome in my accustomed fashion.
14 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1906: GG Turkey.
15 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1906: Hahah, France muted me. Can you guys do me a great favor, please, and tell him:
"Dude, you are so unbearable and shortsighted, I will gladly see this game soloed by Italy if it only means having to share a game with you just a little bit shorter. You act like such a child."
Bolshoye spasibo to anyone who's willing to pass on my message : )
21 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1907: Oh, England... too bad. Were you just tired of living?
21 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1907: Yeah. I'm done. GG boys
21 May 15 UTC Autumn, 1907: GG, England.
23 May 15 UTC Spring, 1908: OK, so let's open talks on how to end this game.
23 May 15 UTC Spring, 1908: For the record, I am completely okay with a three way draw right now.
24 May 15 UTC I had to see if there was any lingering animosity between you two that I could exploit, but it looks like you're going to be all reasonable and cooperate. 3-way draw it is. Good game France and Russia, and thanks to everyone for playing.
24 May 15 UTC If memory serves (and a quick check reveals that it does), I abused Zach and the Doc in last year's game too. When I go around next year begging for players for my 3rd anniversary game, I have a feeling they'll tell me to fuck off, and be right in doing so!
24 May 15 UTC Thanks for the game and see you next year : )
24 May 15 UTC Good game all :-)
