04 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 2003: (ghug): Hey guys, I've paused all ten games. Look at the forum thread for details. You can unpause yourselves when you're ready or you can let me know and I'll do it for you. |
05 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 2003: (ghug): Sorry guys, I didn't look closely enough at the dates. Games unpaused. I'll pause them again next Monday. |
15 Jul 15 UTC | Gg |
15 Jul 15 UTC | interesting that no one took down their draw vote when it was obvious that poland wouldn't be able to win. i mean, i guess i would've been an easy target. gg nevertheless. |
15 Jul 15 UTC | GG. I also kind of wish we could have seen how this one developed more. |
15 Jul 15 UTC | I found a bug in the map during this game: You cannot convoy to Kazakhstan or from using the Caspian Sea. |
15 Jul 15 UTC | In Autumn 2008, I wanted to convoy from Kaz to Cau (or Aze), but it wouldn't let me. :( |
15 Jul 15 UTC | I definitely thought about taking down my Draw vote, but that would have made me the new threat on the board and I wasn't nearly powerful enough to take on all comers. @Britain: Why in the world did you turn on me? I thought we had a rock-solid alliance, especially after actions like saving you from Spain and bouncing myself in Norway to keep the Russians out. If you were somehow still worried about me anyway, all you accomplished was a self-fulfilling prophecy of convincing me to take you out. @Egypt: You made a great comeback, and were a major player in thwarting Poland. The fact that both you and Italy continued to fight for so long while both having Draw votes up and directly fighting Poland was somewhat amusing, mostly because it still worked out in the end. @Italy: Sorry I didn't help you sooner. I wanted to remain neutral between you and Poland for as long as possible, and my attention was elsewhere. I understand exactly why you retreated into Switzerland, so no worries. @Poland: You obviously played a solid game, and it took several players really being on-the-ball to keep you from running away with it. Of course, Britain going insane really helped put you in that position in the first place, so... @Spain: You put up a strong fight for a long time, and I saw you as a major threat from the moment you first pushed into France. I didn't seriously consider peace with you for a long time, because I had faith in my alliance with Britain, but when that fell apart siding with you was the obvious choice. I'm glad to see you agreed, though I still have no idea what message you were trying to send by hitting Auvergne. |
15 Jul 15 UTC | @Germany: Thanks for the comments. I got a bit lucky with my comeback, but I also made some decent moves. I didn't make enough armies which is why I had to fight Italy so much: It is hard for fleets to cross Turkey! |
16 Jul 15 UTC | Very impressive Egypt, good game all. |
16 Jul 15 UTC | the kazakhstan convoy bug is know, i believe. |
16 Jul 15 UTC | *known |
16 Jul 15 UTC | @germany: i was trying to get you to move anywhere, to be honest. i had way too many armies that weren't useful for anything stuck in iberia, and as i thought that we would have to defend ourselves more against poland i tried to either get you to disband auvergne or disband myself after i'm in auvergne. i agree that this wasn't a very clear message, but i had nothing else to do with these armies anyway. |
16 Jul 15 UTC | @Spain: Sounds like what you really should have done is support me into Barcelona so I could build more units to fight Poland. ;) Seriously, though, you probably could have held Tunis if you'd convoyed into Africa instead. I suppose it all worked out anyway. |
17 Jul 15 UTC | the thing is, i never knew if were about to draw and i need to attack egypt to stay relevant or if egypt was struggling to hold poland back and i should stay where i are. but, as you said, all worked out. |
